I think our out of conference schedule could come back to bite us.

The league that's moving up is the Mountain West. Wyoming rejoins the bracket as the league leader. The Cowboys moved into first place after Colorado State picked up its first good win of the season at home over San Diego State. All three teams are now in the bracket, but all in the lower half. Wyoming will be a tough call as an at-large team because of a non-conference schedule that ranks in the bottom 20 of Division I. The Cowboys will probably have to be dominant in the league to overcome that. So far, so good.

I have been saying this all year. Wyo has to outright win the MWC this year to get in. I do not think they will not get an at-large bid otherwise. Win the title or the tourney.

The Pokes will get in if they don't have any bad losses and lose no more than two more the rest of the conference season......maybe no more than 3 more games. This would put us in a top 50 RPI position.

RPI is not the bible and neither is SOS...only a reference. The selection committee will also use common sense as well as other criteria....including top 100 wins and losses to teams that don't have 100 or better RPI's. We're good in this category.

Go Pokes!!

Wyoming can at the most only lose 3 more games the rest of the year and in doing so they would have to also win 2 MWC tournament games. The games they lost would have to be to a New Mexico, SDSU or at UNLV. They can't lose to an AFA or a Nevada.

If they only lose 2 more games I would think that winning one game in the MWC tournament would be enough.

If any of the above does not occur then they will be going to the NIT.

Very slim margin for error. That is why tonight's game is a big one on the road. They lose tonight and they can kiss any at large bid talk bye bye unless they somehow won some games we wouldn't expect them to such as at SDSU.

Pretty much how i see it as well. 16 is the magic number (total MWC wins including tourney).
