I'm all for giving Bohl the 7-8 years, like JVK said, I believe he can be the guy to sustain success without the 2-3 year lull between a winning season. We've tried every other route to obtain success. Doing what what we have done previously would literally be the definition of insanity. Doing the exact same thing over and over expecting a different result. I know its almost led to my insanity. Thank God for Coors and Pendelton. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone but was Dimel's offence the the weird option with the man constantly in motion every set with the option to hand off to him, the RB or pass?

It wasn't "Dimel's" offense per-say. It was the brainchild of Manny Mitsakis, UW's '99 O Coordinator, and it's called the triple shoot. An offense I'm particularly fond of as I have coached it at the lower levels and believe it's one of the best systematic offenses. It was the concept of the jet sweep... before the jet sweep, if that makes sense.

Here is a brief history of the Triple Shoot: https://footballmastery.wordpress.com/tag/triple-shoot-offense/

The actual 1999 Wyoming Triple shoot playbook: https://www.scribd.com/document/34132857/1999-Wyoming-Triple-Shoot-Offense

Thank you for the information! I remember it was really odd looking at first but they had good success running it with Wendell Montgomery and Kofi Shuck.

Even though I'm disappointed with our offense, it seems we're about to "stabilize" in terms of our O-Line and D-Line. Yes, there's been problems with O-Line blocking, but with injuries we were down to 3 freshmen starting. They're getting better every week, though and are already showing signs of figuring things out. Velazquez is going to be a beast, Arnold will be a beast, and Abojei will be a beast.

The D-line is a bit ahead, but still also young. Prosser and Granderson are the old guys as juniors, Ghaifan is a sophomore who's turning into a force, and Crall is just a freshman and showing promise in the rotation. I think Jackson is showing promise too, but it's probably too early to tell with him.

I was also seriously worried about our LB depth this year too, but thanks to Logan Wilson stepping up and quietly becoming a star, I think our front 7 look way better than expected. Does that have to do with Hazelton? Maybe... either way, Wilson, Ortiz, and Maluia have combined for 105 tackles already this season, with Wilson having over 10 tackles per game 3 games in a row.

Wisdorf looked really good in his time saturday. I won't be surprised to see him added to the rotation at some point going forward.

Yeah, forgot about him for some reason. Would be neat to have two impact linebackers from the state of Wyoming!

I got laughed off this board last year for saying Bohl needs 6 years minimum. I may change that sentiment to 7 or 8 now.
I sure didn't laugh. I'm thinking more like 9 or 10.

You may be right. But I expect 2018 to be a decent year, and 2019 to be even better.

Totally agree on Bohl remaining until he completes the process and the "build". Not expecting him to do anymore than field the best players, and develop the best strategy to do so. We have I think the right head man to do so, and no doubt the buck stops at his desk. No excuses, just improvement.

It blows my mind that we haven't won 6 games in consecutive seasons since 1998-99.

Exactly which also add to frustration over our streak of a lack of back-to-back bowl years given the number of bowls and low win totals required to attend said bowls. Which gives us all the more reason to give Bohl more time, nothing else has worked in all that time except give a coach time. I think Bohl is a different breed and will get to a level of sustained success.

Well the bowl standards have changed. Tiller would have went to a bowl every year after his first two years if he was playing by today's eligibility. Dana Dimel would have been more than Bowl eligible every single year he coached here.

Yes, but that was almost 20 years ago.
