The separation between the top and bottom of college sports is getting bigger. The Big East, and MWC(Or whatever its called now) are falling apart. I fear this talk of a new division in college football might come to fruition. Where the former "AQ-conferences" excluding the Big East become an entirely new level in college football. The "non-AQ" school becomes the new FCS or whatever they wish to call it.

There seems to be no end to all of this, but I do know there will not be a good ending for the Big East or the MountUSA or whatever the fuck they're calling it.

My hope is that the Pac-12 and Texas/Oklahoma/Oklahoma State FINALLY tie the knot and get married. Leaving the leftover Big XII schools wide open for the taking.....A conference featuring the Mountain schools in one division and the midwest Big XII leftovers in another would be the best case scenario for all of us.

smells more like the BB Big East schools saying enough crappy FB first BB second schools we are now adding BB strength to the BE. Don't forge the real power in the BE is the Basketball + ND voting bloc.

The irony is that all of these programs need to have other healthy programs as opponents. If there are only a half-dozen teams playing at the new, super-duper Division 1A+++ that locks everyone else out, then the intrigue of college football will disappear about half-way through that round-robin.

Sports requires opponents. That is why the Harlem Globetrotters do not have the kind of TV contract that the NBA does.
