Best part of UW football game Saturday

Well, there were 2 best parts:

1. The WYO echo cheer was awesome, nice job cheer team.

2. When we left at halftime. That was fun. Got to see LSU & Bama on the TV, and CSU drop #7 in a row to UNLV!

Oh, and as far as one of the many worst parts...a lot of our fans really do suck. Mostly the old "almost dead" ones...that refuse to stand & cheer, and complain when fans around them are loud. Saw it happen all over in the West stands Saturday. It makes me sick. Hurry up and retire from going to UW games you old crotchety bastards & bitches, and give your seats to somebody that likes to stand up and cheer! If you want quiet, stay home, or go to an opera.

Totally disagree!

The 2 best parts were:

1. The game had not started yet and beer was being served at tailgate park.

2. The game was over.

The W-Y-O cheer was scripted to happen. It was not spontaneous and the score was like 45-0 when it took place. Accolades to the cheer team for performing when it was not a spontatneous reason to be excited about an event that happened on the field. Who really gives a shit about yelling it then?

As far as old "almost dead ones", think of something else to whine about. Perhaps when you grow up and have to use a cane, some low life punk will blow a nasty ass loogie into the middle of your face when you babble some vulgar trash about the low life punk not acting the way you want at the game. If you want to judge how people should act at the game then you should be judged about your behavior as well. Why don't you leave the game and go talk shit to the lame ass people at Wal-Mart or students tossing the old frisbee around at the rugby park who never even bothered to think about supporting their team by attending?

Assholes like you are - ASSHOLES!

No the best part about the game on saturday...

is that there was a basketball game that night to take the sting off of the loss...

Twistedpoke, is that YOU? WyoCrazy maybe? Don't you pay to post on the rivals board, so you wouldn't "have" to hang around the riff-raff at WyoNation?

And that is so cool...name calling on a message board. Damn that hurts! You must be one of the old crotchety bastards I speak of! If you are going to attend the game (or if you even do attend games), show your support!!! Stand up and cheer. Clap maybe even! Be a factor in the game, not a slab of emotionless crap. If you are going to sit on your hands and bitch because somebody is yelling to loud, go home, and stay home. My behavior is not vulgar or trash, it is respectful, G rated, but yes, loud. You are an uneducated idiot to assume anything else. And as far as the crowd that doesn't attend...what is the difference between an empty seat and a silent seat. A few bucks? That will be made up easily when UW consistently wins, and fans don't have to worry about being too loud.

I have to dis agree McP...I am not a fan of that rant. Pokes fans shouldn't be name calling amongst ourselves. While I agree I would like to see more energy out of the West Stands, the fact is all Pokes fans should be welcome and going to the game regardless of age, sex, etc. The more the merrier!!!

I'm with McP.. to an extent. I like to see the stadium full, but don't rain on my parade if I stand up and get a little crazy. I had some asswipe throwing stuff at me a couple weeks ago because I would stand up and cheer (like a few people around me), but don't tell me to sit down.. if you don't like it, there are four stadium exits, use the nearest one. But that's just my opinion. I don't tend to sit at football games like a pile of crap waiting for it to be over. When third down comes around and the defense is on the field, I'm going to make a little noise. Typically I don't hear anything more after I snap my head around and drop an F bomb.. much to my girlfriends chagrin. I don't tell others how to appreciate and enjoy the game, I would like the same courtesy. This is kind of a touchy subject with me. :)

I guess I should clarify a little. I would like to see excitement out of the fans, and agree that yelling and cheering at the stadium should never be looked down on or frowned upon. I guess I just don't like to see argument's that suggest that Poke fans not come to the stadium, or quickly degrade to name calling and finger pointing.

The best part was the happy birthday wish on the scoreboard to my son in between the 1st and 2nd Qtr.

My son and I enjoyed the Bball game, and my wife, daughter, her best friend, and son all enjoyed the volleyball that night.

The worst part... the officiating, BYU didn't need any help beating us but the got it. Surprised there hasn't been more complaining about the inadvertant whistle that blew our fake punt, or off-setting penalties to wipeout our interception. The fake punt could have energized the crowd and team in the first half and looked like it was going to work. The interception was just something / anything to root for.

I lied, the worst part was the "bring back joe" chant. I supported him until our 7th loss last season, but it is time to move on, that stuff doesn't help at all.

Was there seriously a "bring back joe" chant? It had to have been just a couple of drunks, right?

That is some weak shit regardless!!!

Man, was tough job joe in over his head...

There was a bring back joe chant...the whole student section (that was left) in the 4th quarter sounded to be in on it. Perhaps we can pretend they meant Tiller??? I really like Joe Glenn, but his coaching style, staff, recruiting just didn't work here.

Young/new fanbases are always going to be impatient for results, it's really not all that surprising. Most of those fans are also not really into what's going on with recruiting, or realizing that we're using a completely new system on offense that the old players just weren't recruited for.

Hopefully by this time next year, they'll see some results and will just shut the hell up.
