Besides building a winning program.......

the thing i'm most excited about with this DC hire is the possibility that he may pick out a new set of uniforms that are not ugly as all heck! Let's ditch this "modern" look and get to something simple and sharp. If we keep the uni's but win a ton of games I suppose I can accept that!.......lol

Anything looks good when your winning, other than that, I prefer the more traditional triple stripe uniforms we had with Tiller. They are easy to alternate from (brown on yellow) to (yellow on yellow) and (brown on brown). Kind of fun to mix it up, and sell more jerseys as well. Just win and we will look good.

I'm a traditionalist when it's comes to uni's. However, having worn many different jersey's over 20 some odd seasons of playing football, I still have all mine collected but I never look at them as "ugly" or "cool" it's the memories you make in those jerseys that matters. Of course my favorite is the blood spattered jersey where I was hit so hard my cheek burst open and spilled all over the right side of my jersey. A guy got a free shot on the kicker and took it :) Not my prettiest jersey, but it's the year we won the championship, and that's what matters!

For all I care we could wear BYU jerseys as long as we were winning. I also don't think it's the HC who decides what our jerseys look like. It's probably New Balance and some university sports marketing person.

I am also a traditionalist. What I would like to see is essentially Penn State's unis, with brown substituted for navy and Steamboat on the helmet. Possibly minimal gold trim in strategic places. No names on the backs. That would look awesome and distinctive. Old school is the way to go - austere, no wacky spikes or crazy accents. I think it sends a message that we are here to kick ass - and kicking ass is more fashionable than anything.

Mizzou busted out gold unis in certain games (much to the chagrin of their faithful; many of them complain about how they look and they apparently don't win with them very often) - I do like the gold unis and would like to see them on special occasions.

I don't like Notre Dame, which is why I love the green jersey tradition. I think it is a great tradition, they look awesome, and Notre Dame always loses when they bust them out. Best of all worlds.

And hopefully DC gets the marketing department on board with making real deal jerseys available to the purchasing public.
