Be careful what you wish for...

Say against all odds... Craig Bohl and Wyoming get the upset of the century. I would assume you'd run the table and your coach would be on the top of the list for every vacancy in college football and maybe the NFL.

hahahaha I think Pokes fans wouldn't mind that scenario. A 10-3 season in 1987 followed by an 11-2 season in 1988 is considered a "golden era" at Wyoming...so 13-0 in one season? Bohl could leave for Guam for all we care, Wyoming will take that 13-0 season.

Beating Oregon is a long shot. Even if, which it won't, happened going undefeated the rest of the season would be an even longer shot.

I question the intellectual capacity of some of the visiting Duck posters. This particular thread is weird to say the least.

I have a feeling if we went 13-0 this year, you would likely see UW pony up a big chunk of cash and a contract extension to the coaching staff.

That said, I don't think they are writing that check this year.

Even if Wyoming pulled the upset of the century we'd lose in 2 weeks at Michigan St., or a few weeks later @CSU or a few weeks later to Boise, or all 3. The program just doesn't have the depth for that kind of a run.

but losing a coach due to SUCCESS is a problem I would gladly take again.

Not a problem. Running the table would be nice for recruiting, donations, press coverage, etc. Then we'd get a couple of years running off of the successful fumes of our ex-coach as you guys are doing since Chip's departure, before we'd have to start rebuilding again, like you guys will be doing next year.

Having said that, our coach wouldn't be up for every vacancy. Part of the reason he settled at Wyoming is his style isn't what the big conferences need to move up the rankings ladder. The big conference teams want high scoring games and shiny uniforms that look they were designed by the same guy that dresses Aerosmith. They wouldn't all be looking for an old school guy. But yes, he'd probably land somewhere else that has a larger bankroll and more prestige. Although, which college team would look better than the one that just knocked off Oregon, Michigan State and Boise State in the same season? Maybe he'd end up at Oregon...

And I wouldn't exactly call it the upset of the century. I see two undefeated teams preparing to clash on the field. Hell, so far this season our quarterback, Kirkegaard, has thrown more completions than Mariota, our leading rusher has out-gained your leading rusher, our second leading rusher has out-gained your second leading rusher, and our kicker has more field goals than your kicker. In Wyoming, we win this, on a neutral field, it'd be a pick em'. You guys shot your load last weekend, we're just warming up. Go Pokes!
