Basketball Season Has Begun!

Thank God we've got something to distract us from the shit smear that gets wiped across Jonah Field every week.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this team play. It's going to be an entirely new experience from the past 4 seasons.

We have a 200 pound defensive lineman. BYU has several 200 pound cheerleaders.

Not until Papa Shyatt builds a culture here at UW and we are in the the Top 25 on occassion, then BBall is where people should be flocking to!!!

From all the articles I can find josh Adams isn't in the front runner pack of conference player of the year. He isn't even usually listed as a 1st team all league player. And Wyoming is pretty consensus #8 in the MWC.


I'm not buying it. I think the league is down a little bit- teams and individual players.

Winston Shepard 6-8? Sr F SDSU
Drmic 6-6 G-F Sr Boise State

Those guys seem to be the consensus first teamers but I don't think there's a gap at all w them and Adams unless Adams plays this season a tier above them

AJ west 6-9 F Nevada

West imo is a guy that should be near consensus 1st team type. He has maybe the most dominant skill in the conference. (His rebounding)

James Webb 6-9 F Boise is getting a lot of love. He shot the 3 really high % as the "stretch 4" and he's athletic.

Utah states 2 best guys are thought of as all conf types.

UNLV has a 7-0 freshman that hype wise should be the best player in the conference.



I just don't think it's brown and gold glasses alone. The conference isn't super talented this year. Wyoming has some of the elite talent and some of the best size. Adams and Herndon if healthy both have straight runs to all conf type seasons. At least for Herndon the ability imo to be 2-3rd team.

I think if Morris Marshall is the real deal he fits perfect to match up on most of the top guards in the conference when Adams isn't. And if James is what we hope we have something not many can match up w at the 3. Wyomings bigs are a concern for us fans (hoping Barnes progressed and that one or both of the freshman are ready to contribute) but as much of a question mark as Wyomings bigs are most other teams in the conference have even less to deal with at the 5 and 4.

Did Nance get preseason love last year? Coming off a major injury, it surprises me seeing Drmic getting the love he is. He's a great player no doubt, but coming off a major injury its hard to say if he will be back to the form he was pre-injury.

West is a great player. Webb is too.

Definitely not sold that were the 8th best team in the conference. Hopefully our guys take that slight and use it a fuel to kick ass this fall!

Should be an interesting year. It is kind of nice missing most of the preseason hype, less pressure means the team can go out and focus on winning and winning only.
