Defensive POY? Stanton had 12 tackles a sack and a pic 6.... Never thought the Pokes would see the day. Stanton has a very good chance of winning the award

Maybe he got the nod due to the fact that he played in a conference game and Stanton played against a FCS school. Either way though, Stantons numbers where better.
 
Maybe they didn't want to seem to favor Wyoming by giving back to back to back to start the season.
Especially with Wyo playing AFA, where our safeties and LBs are going to get a LOT of tackles.
