Chris Ault retired from Nevada today.. inventor of the Pistol offense, etc. Big loss for the 'Pack.

Going to be a huge hit for Nevada.
Understatement of 2012. Reno is barely a notch up from the Big Sky schools without Ault. I expect a drop off similar to Hawaii's after June Jones left....maybe worse.

Nevada's biggest problem is their facilities suck, and it will prob be the lowest paying job in the MW.. or at least, on par with UNLV. Their only hope for a HC in this situation is a young coordinator or an FCS coach ready to move up.

I thought Wyoming would beat Nevada one way or the other in 2013, but now that game might get ugly....won't be as fun without an Ault tantrum though.

Ault also insulted every booster worth a shit in that area so tbh with him gone they will increase donation and booster revenue.

Why wait so long? Sort of screws up their coaching search.....or did he let them know a while back?

He let them know every year for like the last 5 years but just kept sticking it out.

Stefon Jefferson has entered the draft. This just gets worse and worse for Reno.
Apparently Jefferson had a bad case of butter fingers, meaning while he was a good runner, he had a tendancy to drop the ball a lot.

Read this article, tells the tale of Nevada athletics: http://www.rgj.com/article/20121230/SPORTS06/312300042/Nevada-football-Work-remains-Pack-join-Mountain-West-s-top-spenders" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Interesting article. Nevada could take a big tumble next season. The financial status just isn't there.

Getting to a high level is one thing, financially sustaining it is another.
