Odds are out at 5 dimes to win the MWC tourney:

Boise st is +230
San diego St is +260
Csewe is +335
Unlv is +450
Wyoming is +1150
Utah st. +1700
Fresno St. +5300
New mexico +1600
Air Force +11000
Nevada +100000

It's tempting to put a dollar on Nevada or even air farce. However, I put a small wager on us. I think our chances are better than UNLV and at about 11 to 1, it's a pretty good payout.

The odds are so short on the top 3 teams that I don't see any value there. Should be a fun time.

You would think if there was any year it wouldn't be a "chalky" tournament with multiple upsets and one of the non top 2 or 3 seeds winning it that it would be this year.

Now because of that thought process it will probably be "chalky".

Good value actually on UNLV if they have Vaughn and McCaw back as well as on Wyoming, Utah St. and Fresno St. Those are the 4 teams I would pick from to place wagers on from a value standpoint then hope that either Wyoming, Utah St. or Fresno St. win it to clean up and make a decent profit.

I just can't see it with UNLV. That extra game has to hurt. Has anyone ever had to play 4 days in a row and go on to win their tournament?

Yeah. UCONN in 2011 won 5 games in 5 days to win the Big East tournament with Kemba Walker and then went on to win the National Championship.

Them winning those 5 in 5 was even more impressive than their 6 wins in the Big Dance imo.

Thursday Lines so far:

Wyoming -2.5 vs. Utah St.

CSU -7.5 vs. Fresno St.

Boise St. and San Diego St. do not have lines yet as they have to wait to see who their opponents are.

Hate to say it but I think csewe is going to hammer fresno st.. Where are you getting lines? My offshore book is not putting out early lines.

Vegas Insider has them listed. Wyoming actually opened as a -1.5 point favorite and was bet up to -2.5. I figured we would open around -1 to -2.

My offshore book also has these for the first round:

New Mexico -3 vs. Air Force

UNLV-9 vs. Nevada

CSU opened -8 and was bet down to -7.5

I think Fresno will give them a tougher game this time. Not sure if I will wager on it or not though.

Someone will get upset in the first round most likely I am just hoping it isn't us.

When I was looking over the stats for the MWC tournament what I found was that all top 4 seeds all won their first game only 4 times out of the 15 tournaments.

So they all could win but most likely at least one team will go down. Most likely is either going to be in our game or the CSU /Fresno game. We play first so if we win and cover you might want to take a hard look at Fresno St later in the evening on Thursday for a bet.

well, if we lost, would you go the other way on csewe/fresno? And if we indeed win, would you take Fresno on the moneyline? I'm guessing it would be about +280.

If we lose I will probably lay off of it although I would still lean Fresno St. If Wyoming wins though it will be another added reason to take Fresno.

Not sure if you saw the other thread I made or not but the #3 seed is only 7-8 in the first round in MWC tourneys. The #3 seed gets upset more than any other top 4 seed. With the #1 and #2 seeds going 14-1 in the first round. So you figure the #1 and #2 are both going to win which leaves the only chance for upsets in either our game or CSU/Fresno.

The #4 seed is 11-4 so odds are Wyoming probably wins but there is still a small chance they could lose.

If we win though you have to think odds are if one team is going to get upset it will be the #3 seed again. I would make a bigger play on Fresno St. +7.5 and then take a small wager on the money line. That way even if CSU pulls it out it will probably be a close game and you make a profit . The other thing is everyone is going to be thinking that CSU will kill Fresno St. because they beat them twice this year by decent amounts. Bookmakers already know this.

They are making this line on public perception and already have a good idea which way they think this will go. If they thought CSU was going to destroy Fresno again they wouldn't put out a line at only -7.5 or -8 they would have made it -10 or more. The public will be all over CSU in this game. Won't surprise me one bit if Vegas cleans up on this game. Obviously nothing is a sure thing but this is a good spot to take Fresno.

You will have a lot of odds in your favor to take Fresno St. +7.5 at that point especially if the Pokes win.

if we win the MWC and get a 12 13 seed that's historically a good draw for us, I'll sure take that everyday all day

Playing Air Force +3 in the first men's game.

Lots to like about the Falcons today in this game.

Good luck if you play it. :thumb:

Had to place a bet as soon as I got in. Now need the pokes to play hard.

Did you take the Pokes over Utah St. or did you take them to win the tournament?

Good Luck!

Tournament, Go big or go home right?

Hey buddy go cash that ticket. We are going to the big dance!!!!!!!!!! :D :thumb: :thumb: :D

Bet big or go home, took the bet on 10:1 for Wyoming to win the MWC Tournament best MWC experience ever. Bet paid for most of the trip minus the bar.
