Attention all Colorado based Cowboy Fans!

ALL: You and I have lived with the ups and downs with UW
athletics for over 30 years. A personal note to all of you from DouglasPoke!
I grew up in Casper, went to UW from 1973 to 1980. I recall the day putting on my Colorado Plates and thinking...geeeshh I am a greenie now. I have lived in Parker since 1987!

You and I shared the great years of Tub
Bradley, Kenneth Ollie, Coach Brandenburg, DeVoe and some bad suits they wore.
Fred
Akers, Lawrence Gaines, Pat Dye, Jim Kiick, Paul Roach, Paul Nunu, Lou Christopolos, Brett Smith, so many good ones. The sweet 16! The bowl games.. The heartbreaks. The wins against Ole' Miss, My wife always tells me..why do I do this to myself. I remember the 0-0 tie against Air Force in the first year of Bill
Lewis with you at the War. The heartbreak loss when we had CU beat...The win against CU in 1982 Aaron Kyle and the two #1
drafts pics from a team that went 2-9 in 1975 and then the next year went to the Fiesta
Bowl. Jim Williams from CSU going into the stands after a game at the Field House! I still get that special feeling when the Cowboys come onto the field. The Tark complaining about the dust at the Field house when we beat them one night and they were highly rated!

I can tell you that during those good years and bad years, I hardly ever heard from CJC. Things have gotten much better and CJC is reaching out to us in Colorado. Tim Collins with CJC and the Athletic Department will speak with you to help ease any grievances with their past conduct. Tim has been in Colorado multiple times. They want to energize the Colorado Base...The basketball team is in great hands
with Coach Shyatt. You and I both know that football will start rocking real
soon with Coach Bohl. UW is important to us..the Cowboys are important to us.... and I know that you have been
a forever season ticket holder, fan but join up again with CJC . Start with
something small and let them prove that the quality is going up. Colorado is important for recruiting and what better thing for the coaches to tell them about the strong support here in Colorado

Currently Colorado is #4 in CJC memberships.

They are trying…..

As a side note we are trying to set up a every other month meeting for CJC at a breakfast somewhere like Johnson's Corner on a Saturday morning..Nothing formal, but just to get together, maybe have a guest speaker, but just us Cowboy fans to get to know each other and spread the word. The idea is that you would now that on a set Saturday morning every other month that we can all meet for breakfast or Coffee. Please call me if you have any questions or need information:

Tim has been doing a hell of a job since he took over for Jeff Pivic last year. Glad to hear that he's making a push to engage Colorado fans more!

This is a great idea! I know from a class reunion that put up a US map and had class members put pins in it showing where they now live that there are probably more UW Alums living in CO than anywhere else (by a large margin). Have one of those famous cinnamon rolls there at Johnson's Corner for me - I don't get down there very often any more.

The idea is that we might try to get a guest from Uw/or personality every other time as a surprise speaker..try to make it down..heck you could be one of those guest speakers.,..

Just that everyone knows that on a given Saturday morning on a certain even month that there is something going on there at a known location

I live in CO and the only time I hear from CJC is when they want my donation.

Same here! I'm in North Denver and hardly ever see anything related to UW and it's just 2 hours up the road!

That is the idea and I agree with you that before this year that I was in the same camp with you.
Tim Collins with the ath department is trying.so let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Send me your email and I will contact you with the information. I am in very southern Denver and we are setting this up closer to your area.
