Are there any basketball coaches with Wyoming roots

that are ready to compete against UNLV, UNM, SDSU...

I would love to see the next basketball hire be a Wyoming guy? Are there any out there that we could realistically get?

Steve Gosar. currently the Head Coach CSI JC in Idaho. Was a GA at UW under McClain. Good guy. and a great Coach

does he know a lot about forensics?

If Chris says he is good I will bet he could be worth a look :thumb:

Jeremy Cox is probably the name you will hear mentioned the most. He has some fans. Personally, I am not sold on him, but our pool of candidates for this next hire will be much shallower than the previous one now that the program has been thoroughly destroyed.

Cox is originally from Wyoming and started his coaching career as a GA under Benny Dees. He was a successful JC coach (National Champ, Coach of the Year) and was part of Billy Gillespie's staff at Texas A&M and Kentucky. He is currently an assistant at USF. He was in the running when Schroyer was hired.

Gosar is another name (as CMAC mentioned, currently HC at CSI. One of his assistants is Josh Dees, son of Benny, FWIW), but I would look at him more as an assistant than a head man at this point. He has a solid record at CSI, but it is actually been somewhat of a dissapointment (they have very high standards).

Junky! WTF!

That is exactly what everyone was talking and bitching about when UW lost Barta and pulled the trigger on Burman. "We need a Wyoming guy...blah blah blah." And guess what, we got one. And well...you know the rest of that story.

We don't need a Wyoming guy...
