Are all these bodybag games to pay for a facility or budget?

I don't qualify Missouri, Washington State, Texas Tech, or Iowa as body bag games. Oregon, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Clemson on the other hand.....

Regardless, it looks like a big ooc game or two a year is now the norm. The road games should all be pretty big paydays. The home games will qualify for t.v. bonus money. It looks like we have one of these paydays every year, sometimes two.

In a recent interview Burman said that the AA phase 2 could be paid for by July(this summer). After that Corbett Pool is next on the facilities plan. It's going to be pricey and will be more difficult to raise funds for.

Where would you like to see the money go Pokes fans? Should we pay for Corbett, increase the budget, or some combination of the two? I'm hoping we're playing all these body bags so we can increase the budget. To me that seems like the most pressing need.

Here's an article that shows the future schedule. It definitely looks like it's designed to generate more revenue.

I totally agree with that, but does it need to be done in a hurry. I say put every dollar you can into the budget and raise the money for Corbett as you can get it. The priority should be the revenue generating sports budgets while still working on Corbett. At least that's my opinion. Get me some recruiting money for Bohl and Shyatt. I'll worry about the pool later.

Fuck Corbett and fuck swimming. Let's pump money into football, basketball, and BASEBALL.
Double stamped. Does the pool have water? Than they can swim. It boggles my mind the idea of spending MILLIONS on a water containing apparatus. Will they swim any faster if the locker rooms are updated or outdated? Nope. It's all the same.

I still think we need to support swimming. He's one of the better coaches we have and one of the most successful programs at Wyoming. I just don't think it's a huge priority to get in done in record time. Take the pool donations as you get them.

Burman's priority needs to be getting Shyatt and Bohl recruiting money as quickly as possible and making sure the staff's get what they deserve to be paid. When you pay for the men's sports, you have to pay for women's sports too, so Legerski and the volleyball coach will be getting more resources as they increase football and basketball budgets.

Shyatt and Bohl are behind the eight ball with our rinky dink budget. In addition, those sports generate revenue. If we start winning at both and attendance shoots up Tom will have more money then he knows what to do with.

Yeah, yeah.

Same thing with football and basketball.

If I remember right, they've had to use either the high school swimming pool or the swimming pool at the rec center because Corbett is so outdated.

The thing I'm worried about with the budget and Bohl is what has happened to Shyatt so far. The first couple of seasons as the UW coach, if you miss on recruiting it's a much longer building process. I don't know if Wyoming has the patience for that.

They need the recruiting budget boost yesterday. We can't wait until year three or four to get it for him, because if he misses out on recruits the first three years: he's kind of fucked.

I wouldn't call home and home arrangements body bag games. That term came about a decade and a half ago to refer specifically to one off, away, payday games with no return.

Why would you want to pump money into a dying sport that you would play all your games away? Sounds dumb.

Exactly what I thought, Snowy. Does the AA have a basketball court in it? Does the War have a field on it? They can play.

Not quite the same... New turf field plays different than grass....water acts like water.... New building, old building, who gives a shit. Water is water and swimming is swimming. Plus why not dump money into a sport that brings some return in value...

I know, my point is the entire athletic department deserves upgrades, top to bottom. We've had olympic caliber athletes on our track and swim teams the last decade, that's kind of a big deal.

To say Corbett needs an upgrade is an understatement. It's an absolute embarassment of a facility.

We dont have a high dive. The diving team has to go to ft collins when they practice high dives. They need a new pool facility badly. My brother in law turned down a full ride scholly to swim at wyo purely because of facilities

Exactly. We have a lot of those on the schedule right now. I agree about the home and homes, but we've got one offs scheduled vs. Iowa, Clemson, and at Michigan State. That's more one offs on our football schedule then we've had in years.

I was pointing it out because it seems there has been a philosophical change in the way we schedule and it's definitely about money.

How is baseball a dying sport? The contracts are now bigger than they ever have been, and almost every MLB team has built a new stadium in the past 20 years, and MLB salaries are HUGE compared to NFL and NBA contracts.
