As a fan it is disappointing to lose a starter again to transfer. Ben, S Gary, Josh D all at least had a home state destination as a reason why which does not put them in the ACS category of transfer. I talked to ben briefly after the TCU game last year at a restaurant and congratulated the team on a well fought game... he said he wished he had played better but thanked me anyway. He seemed like a nice young man, so I will wish him luck and thank him for his contributions to the pokes.
However, unlike S Gary and Josh D he did wait until after taking up all those spring reps to announce his transfer, which raises the frustration level. I certainly hope he did not have this planned all along and did not inform the coaches because that would hurt the team even beyond his transfer. If it was his plan and the coaches knew then that's ok as well.
I can't be mad at the kid for pursuing a childhood dream, but I could if he stole spring reps from others if he already decided to transfer but was waiting to get his degree. In the big scheme of things I am still fired up about the d linemen we have and the new players coming in, especially Uso Olive.
