I went to Boulder last year for the Texas game. Just stay away from anything that has to do with the students, inside the stadium and out. They have one of the worst student bodies in the Big 12. They were throwing crap at our players and all over the field last year. Other than that you'll be fine. The older alums and locals were very nice and welcoming.
We didn't tailgate around the stadium, and the tailgates I saw seemed pretty lame. But we did takeover some bar that was walking distance away. I can't remember the name off the top of my head. Boulder is a cool town to visit.
