Anyone know UW's travel plans next week?

If I was Shyatt, I think I would just keep the team in Vegas after Saturday's game. The only benefit to coming home would be one day of class time. Plus, staying in Vegas would probably be cheaper in the long run -- hotel rooms vs. plane tickets. Also, if they could get some extra practice time in the Thomas and Mack that would be a benefit as well. Anyone know if they will stay in Vegas or not?

aren't mid terms next week?

also couldn't an extended vacation in vegas prove more "exhausting" than a couple of extra flights?

and btw, i'm not trying to prove your points wrong at all

i've been thinking about this for a while as well

If I remember coach Shyatt correctly, he has a kind of hang-up about class and school...

I would stay in Vegas too, but would leave off the "stay out of trouble" exception. It is all supposed to stay in Vegas if it happens there anyway. Right?

what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas-----not if the Pokes win----i want to share in that...lol

Rarely does anyone "need" to be in class for midterms......something significant is likely due, but I'm sure they have arrangements for different due dates.

Midterms don't really exist anymore at least from my current experience. The only midterm is the professor letting you know what your grade is it midterm. IMO most players don't regularly attend class anyways so what's the diff. I def see more basketball players going to class than football players though. So unless it just makes shy feel better having the boys in class it really doesn't matter.

I doubt Coach Shyatt lets his kids skip class if they are in town.

Did you read the part I see more basketball players going to class than football. They are a much better group of guys all around.

Not every professor/instructor takes attendance. Shyatt has little to do with anyone skipping class. Its not like its some immoral act either......there is no such thing as a student who has never skipped a class.

Wyocowboy2014, I did see your comment that basketball players are in class generally more frequently than the football players. When I was in school and Wright and Tiller were the coaches, the inverse was true.

I was told that, last time he was around, he would have someone check on each player to ensure that they were both in class and seated within the first few rows of seats in the room (where they could pay better attention.) One of the reasons that I am a big fan of Coach Shyatt is because he is an educator.

It will be good for kids in Wyoming if Coach Shyatt stays around long enough for several years worth of education majors to enter teaching after having taken the basketball theory class (which is required for basketball coaching certification in Wyoming) under Coach Shyatt. He spends as much time teaching future coaches about how to use basketball and other sports to teach life lessons as he spends teaching Xs & Os.
