Just one of many freshman/sophomores who are building the backbone of this program. Great job Andrew....you earned it.

Go Pokes!!

Congrats, Andrew. Continue on this path and you'll be in the NFL. Looking forward to better years for the Pokes.

Awesome.

2nd Team MWC
1st Team Freshman All-American

Can't wait to see what awards he racks up over the next 3 seasons.

Wasn't Blair Burns a freshman all american? Hopefully Dewey develops along year by year better than Burns did

Looks like he was the only one from the MWC. Wonder what the 2 Colorado schools are thinking now after not recruiting him? Bohl must have saw something in him that they did not!

Denver Post Oct 21, 2014
"Ralston Valley senior Andrew Wingard gave his verbal commitment Tuesday night to play football at Wyoming, he announced via Twitter.

“Over the summer I went to their football camp and I got my first offer from them. I really just liked their coaches a lot and they showed me a bunch of love,” Wingard said. “I knew in my heart I was going to go to Wyoming.”

The 6-foot, 175-pound running back/defensive back has rushed for 1,014 yards and 16 touchdowns — 21 in total — this season, helping the No. 2-ranked Mustangs to an 8-0 record. But he said he was recruited to play defensive back at Wyoming.

Wingard is the third Colorado player to give his verbal commitment to Wyoming, joining Cherry Creek’s Joseph Parker and Overland’s Kevin Prosser.

The 17-year-old, who said he is looking to major in engineering, said he also received an offer from North Dakota, and Colorado had expressed interest in him. "
