Analysis, things we learned

Our O-line is improved. Plenty of rushing and pass protection. Our WRs are great. Wick ran hard and can be a bruiser. Really happy that our O performed so well in all aspects against a great team

Our d-line is better especially against all the pork Nebraska had. We had a lot of TFL. Puletasi and Mertens had their number called lot. Our secondary didn't do bad. Most of the passes were great catches. Some misses tackles in running game that allowed bigger plays. Allowed some big 3rd and long conversions still

Punting was good. But special forces coverage was pretty bad.

Play calling obviously worked. Hated end of half but after 1st and 20 with a minimal gain, I understand a little. Don't fault the trick play. It usually works, just wish he would have taken tackle instead of throwing it up

TOs weren't bad. B smith made one bad decision . He threaded needle a few times.

What impressed me most were: Obviously Brett Smith, but that was not a surprise.
Wick running the ball the way he did. He is going to absolutely destroy some of these teams in the next few weeks.
Remember when I posted some stats about Mizzou when DC was the OC there and how they had that effective RB?
If Wick plays like this against Idaho, NC, AFA, Texas St., NM, and CSU, Smith won't be forced to do as much, but when he gets the chance he will be even better. The offense is going to blow some teams out shortly.
The D-Line, wow they played tough. I realize they got roasted a few times, but what can we expect against Nebraska's O-Line with such a young group of guys?
The Pokes D is here to play this season.

whew, made it through the hang-over.

that was one of the most exciting football experiences for me personally. The game played out in the manner that I thought it would. was hoping for the w, and I am pissed we didn't get it.

Wacha might be the next Wyoming record breaker. what a beast, he was everywhere. need to get some beef on those noodle arms though lol.

I thought wick looked awesome... but that was all due to a vastly improved oline. I mean VASTLY! that line looked collegiate, love the tackles. Perez did a good job. could tell he was a little nervous; a few high snaps.

loved the way our d line played last night. Nebraska ran the ball 61 times... that is a load for any team. And lets face it, that was the best rushing attack we will see this season; to include air force (which has a pretty good new fullback (hart)).

I'm extremely pumped for the rest of the season. If this offense and defense stay healthy this year, we are going bowling for sure. we might even win the damn conference.

mertens looked like a lumberjack out there chopping down trees.

and that hit puletasi put on Abdullah near the goalline... in the words of Chris Berman "BOOOM". Love this team.

Yep, that hit from Puletasi was a message that the team was not going to lay down last night.

Any Internet smart guys have a .gif of Puletasi giving Abdullah the ol' "how's your father?" THAT was a hit.

I also should eat a little crow, I thought we would get rolled in this one. Our run D is still suspect and will be our Achilles heel all season but as I said a couple of months ago, it can only improve from where it was last season. Our O might be good enough to win some track meets with Brett Year Three (healthy) and Christensen calling plays. I'm definitely more optimistic about this season than I was 24 hours ago, that's for sure.

:) Put me down with cowduck and pass the crow, Pokes aquitted themselves better than I'd expected-especially the o-line. I am not dissappointed by the loss-the performance we witnessed is definitely progress-flashed some cowboy tough in the trenches...if we get tougher on the run defense-we should be squared away enough to be contender
