Random fact but VK was a KState guy and actually spoke with Snyder regarding rebuilding a program...........His first response was "Start firing guys" when he asked him.

Mike MacIntyre at SJSU took over a pretty bad SJSU team and had them to 10 wins in 3 years.
Are any of these sustaining/maintaining progress?
I'll do your little "what's that got to do with the prices of Guano in Africa?"
Glenn had us at 7-5 and beating UCLA in Year two.
DC had us 7-6 immediately and 8-5 two years later. Maintain/ sustained progress? No, we quit on them and want something new.

Some moved on (MacIntyre, Anderson, etc.) and some sustained (Jones and Calhoun).

Oh make no mistake, I've long contended that WYO has issues much deeper than coaching, but I still think a goal of bowl game by year 3 and challenging upper end MWC by 4-5 is not unrealistic. From what I've gathered, that is about average for what most folks on the board think.

Dimel was a KState guy, too. I'm pretty sure that the thinking was when VK was hired that he would keep the train moving, not scrap everything his predecessor had done and try it another way. He was the d coordinator on Dimel's staff...

Kind of sad, but I thought VK deserved at least one more year. We were being abused by everybody in year one and two and even though we finished 2-10 his last year he actually had the team fighting in games:
Citadel-Win 34-30
CSU-Loss 36-44
SDS- Loss 20-23
AFA- Win 34-26 #22 in nation
NLV- Loss 48-49
BYU- Loss 31-35
Uta- Loss 18-23

Seriously, almost over the hump and would Bramlet and McGuffey, Floyd, Ralph and Scott and Armah all back for a senior heavy team that probably would've progressed to something more than 4-8 under Glenn. Just saying.
Oh, Dimel is long time Coord with KSU also. Still is.

Yep...although Ralph was a Sr. that year but mostly Dimmel recruits. Really never understood (still don't) the hate for him. Yeah he left and didn't address anyone but that's business.

I also feel as though VK ran off some guys that would have definitely helped. The wins weren't there but some of the cupboard being bare was due to that....and it is what it is but I also believe the horrible attendance played a factor. I don't think the hate towards the players at that time ...homecoming presentations mocking the team.....twitter wasn't around but radio shows...random people/students...was a whole different level. Yes these kids are paid to play football and have a great opportunity etc etc....their whole lives revolve around the sport and I think most people do not realize the time etc they put in...okay starting to ramble...

Then Glenn comes in ra ra ra ra.....appears to be turning the corner (with some remaining VK players, etc etc.) and falls flat.

I wouldn't agree with that......I cannot wrap my simple mind around losing to UND....cannot..just cannot
