That's interesting. I'm living in Lexington, KY for a few months (where Big Ass Fans is headquartered) and actually know one of the owners. They have an interesting story. They had a more typical name at one time, but customers kept coming in and asking, "Are you guys the ones that sell the big ass fans"? Eventually, that's how almost everyone referred to them, so they decided to switch their name.

. . .In fact, you can shoot pool, play foosball, shuffleboard, air hockey and ping-pong without even leaving the office. Now that's convenience! Monday and Friday mornings there is an all-you-can-eat cereal-bar, along with a self-serve coffee & tea bar at all times. We also offer employee lunches and company BBQs on a regular basis.

My employer cancelled the annual employee BBQ because of the "economic crisis" but then decided to buy all 7 of our VPs new iPhone's.... out of contract. Maybe I'll go work for Big Ass Fans too.

What an asshole. I know I'd be pissed if my employer pulled somehting like that.

I work for the largest employer in Missoula, and one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest, there are many people pretty upset at the irresponsible spending that goes on in our facility.
