Aaron Young on the Zone....

Well-known member
I'm really starting to like this kid. When you watch his tape, if you pay attention to his head you can see that he goes through his progression really well. He doesn't stare down receivers and his stats back that up(22 td, 3 int). He seems like a qb that is really well prepared and does the necessary work to be ready for whatever faces him. After listening to this interview, I have more confidence that he can help Wyoming. He knows more about Wyoming then most recruits we sign and a lot of Wyoming fans. You can tell he's done his research.

I know a lot of you will freak out about comparing this kid to Brett Smith, but here goes. I'm not saying they have the same physical gifts. However, after watching his tape and listening to his interview you can tell this is a kid that does his homework, works his ass off, and is very well prepared. Smith came to Laramie for spring ball to get a leg up on the competition. Aaron is doing the same thing. I can see a lot of similarities already between Smith and Young. Both of them are hard workers, both of them prepare very well, both of them do a lot of homework, both of them wanted to be Cowboys, and both of them have a massive chip on their shoulder to prove people wrong. I think under Bohl this is exactly the type of guy we need at qb.

Take a listen. You will be impressed by the mental game of Aaron Young.

lol...that didn't take long. Wyoming could start a deformed hippo at QB and fans would convince themselves by August that he'll be 1st All-MWC. :D I'm just messin'.....

I'm not saying this guy is a future NFL draft pick like Smith. Just listen to his interview and watch his tape and you can see that Aaron Young has the mental part of the game down. All I'm saying, I feel a lot better about the qb position today then I did yesterday. In fact, I feel a lot better about the qb position with Aaron Young then I did with Jason "Diamond Bling" "Get Me the Hell out of Laramie" Thompson at qb.

I'm 100 percent confident that Aaron Young will get the most out of winter conditioning, will show up ready for spring ball, and will do his research for opening day against Montana. Even if we sign another qb with better physical gifts I wouldn't be surprised if this is our starting qb next year on work ethic alone.

You mean "thAn".
I'm excited to see what happens. I haven't been worried.
I should teach AY to speak Italian, or something else if he already speaks Italian.

Hot girls aren't supposed to be card carrying members of the grammar police. Since you brought it up though and since I haven't studied grammar in 20 years, how does this work again? Then refers to a time and than is used for comparisons? Is that right?

A scholarship offer and interviews with Wyoming newspaper, radio and television all within the last 24+ hours. The kid must be doing backflips with excitement. I don't think we have to worry about this kid not giving 110% to the program and coach Bohl. Just watched some footage on Channel 5 and it looked like he had nice touch on his throws.

Now we know why he headed to NY to play ball rather than remain in Cali. Hard not to pull for kids like that. Will be interesting to see who the staff offers to complement Young in this class.

For me it works by feel. I speak English as little as possible nut thAn and thEn are so easy Jowboy Cunky. It's just something one knows.
 Now I've just made up a little song "Jowboy Cunky" off of the "Steamboat Bessie" song.

No but really I'm excited about Coach Bohl coming in and more.

Awesome interview. Hope he has the tools, he seems like a very non Kody Sutton type kid lol

Lol I think that is how we should rate kids now on. Forget talent. We need hard work. Not cocky douche baggery.

We should rate kids on a scale from Kody Sutton to Brett Smith.
1 star translates to Kody Sutton (total douche and total bust)
2 star translates to Josh Doctson (total douche, but at least kind of talented, but still a douche)
3 star translates to Ward Dobbs (not all that talented, but a bad ass, tough, hard working mofo)
4 star translates to Chris Prosinski (very talented and bad ass, also hard working mofo)
5 star translates to Brett Smith (elite talent, very bad ass, hard working mofo)

If we can build our team on Ward Dobbs, some Chris Pro's, and the occasional Brett Smith we will win games, and the fans will be VERY proud of the product win or loss.
All class, and hard work.

A multi-linguistic hot girl that knows the difference between then and than by feel, loves Wyoming, and posts on message boards? :o I'm surprised you aren't already married. It's too bad I'm spoken for. :D

In your honor I will try my best to get then and than right from now on, but I can't promise anything about the correct use of commas or the difficulty presented by there, their, and they're.

This imo is actually a good sign for Wyoming, Sure I don't think that he is going to just dominate the MWC but he was after Bohl before he came to Wyoming and on top of that he wants to play for Wyoming and in the MWC and was waiting for Smith to leave.

On top of that he actually seemed to know more about Wyoming Football than a good majority of the people that live in the state lol. I feel better about him coming in then I did when ACS left and Smith came in who we also knew nothing about.

Definitely more mature than your average college athlete and is mentally prepared. Possibly the best thing about this interview is he isn't hoping to start or hoping to compete he actually talks like he is going to be starting in his mind.

Sounds like one of those guys that jr college has helped in the long run. Hope all goes well and he gets here early like he wants now I just need to go watch more of his films.

Well, you and wyo2dal can both blame the thAn and thEn mistakes on autocorrect.
I just had to kid around with ya.

I like the kids enthusiasm and his commitment.... but he is not the next superstar QB for us. Watching his game film he isn't going to tear it up in the MWC. If our running game and O-line are competitive it would certainly help any QB

Mike Vorel must have noticed the same thing....

Maybe he isn't the next superstar. Still, I'm not going to bet against a smart, hard worker with an accurate arm and something to prove. The more Wyoming fans that doubt his ability the more he's going to want to prove he can be the next superstar Wyoming qb.

I think he'll fit the system and not be a frickin' crybaby like the future benchwarmer yoot. He'll be a good working cog in the new system.

Fresh start. This is going to be good.

The problem when you improperly use these words is that it makes one think you got your schooling at Colorado State or BYU instead of good old Wyoming.

as a close family member of Aaron, i promise you guys he has nothing but the best intentions for Wyoming, he's committed to this program. he'll work day and night at this. he isn't the biggest and athletic kid, but boy all we do is watch film, or learn more and more about this great game. he's a football geek. and with this new system, hes the perfect fit for wyoming.

Go Pokes!
