There is talk about the Freedom Caucus and how UW is going to be limited. I will make the case that when the match was available, UW maximized it to build facilities. That match may be gone on this point.
So now, we pretty much have the facilities we need, and don't necessarily need that match. Now it's about NIL and revenue sharing. So duh, the facilities we've built help us with revenue, especially on the high end. That's the point! Now it's time to put that money to use on revenue sharing. The timing is good for us.
That said... Yeah, we're still on the short end of the stick in college athletics. It's not the late 80s like when I went to college, where we were in the sweet 16 and undefeated in the WAC football for two years. Nor is it the Kenny Sailors or Bowden Wyatt era. But to say we have invested nothing? That is one hundred percent wrong.
Don't sleep on UW athletics. Or do. We always rise again. Josh Allen, Logan Wilson, and company are doing us proud. Larry Nance Jr. did as well. UW athletics will survive and make us proud. Sometimes we will suck. Depth is always a concern, and injuries often show our limited depth. But our athletes will compete. Josh Allen, MVP, really? I never thought that would happen. Don't sell his loyalty short. Same with Logan, Granderson, Epps, Wingard, Muma, Crum, and others. The reigning MVP of the NFL played in Laramie. The timing was perfect. Will that happen again, probably not. Enjoy the moment.
