A Couple Quick Things....

Outside of Golladay's big game nobody else stood out and that made me happy. This team would've run the ball like crazy against us last year. We have taken a step forward on defense and I think that's a good take away from this game, too early to tell what's going to happen.

We will be competitive in every game...and it has been awhile since we could say that!

The biggest difference I noticed was the defense's tackling ability and speed to the ball! This looked like the best defense I have seen since Christensen's first year when he had Glenn's players (Fletcher, Unrein, Dobbs, Biezuns, etc...). The strides in one year on that side of the ball are pretty remarkable!

Logan Wilson and DJ May are fast, fast, fast. Wacha , May, Wingard and Wilson are very sure tacklers.

Yes! The tackling was much improved. That was so good to see. Its been frustrating the last several years, especially with DC in charge of the teams poor tackling. NIU has a big offensive line, and MAC teams often get their lineman drafted. I don;t think Neb O line is much bigger than NIU. I think the biggest difference Neb will have more speed and better rb's compared to NIU. And I'm not just penciling in a loss to Nebraska either. I think Neb will be the 3rd best team Pokes will face this year. I think it will be a competitive game and anything can happen. I'm not expecting a win, heck the only game I really am "expecting" the Pokes to win this year is UC Davis. Likely most every game is going to be very tough to win.

But NIU was a big game, when you come off a 2 win season and beat a quality team like NIU who is in a bowl game most every year, its a big win. Especially the way this game played out.

Wait... Boise might be better, but who else on the schedule is tougher than Nebraska? You're not thinking SDSU is better than Huskers, are you?

I would actually agree that SDSU is better than Nebraska. Nebraska was shit last year (relative to their normal level of success), no reason to think they'll be that much better this year.

Couldn't you technically make that exact same statement about Wyoming? :)

That said, SDSU did return a lot of good players, and it's difficult to draw any conclusions from them demolishinig UNH.

You could, but IMO, Craig Bohl is a much better coach than Mike Riley. Still laughing that he is who they hired.

We'll find out how good SDSU is this weekend. Cal struggled quite a bit with what I expect to be a struggling Hawaii team. If SDSU can't smack the crap out of that team, they are overrated and clearly unworthy of this undefeated talk.

I'd like to see SDSU take a header. I do not like them

Also.. Anyone pay attention to the DE spot opposite of Granderson? It seemed like there was a lot of rotating players at that position.

I think that was the plan with both Hall and Prosser. Were there others?
