7 wins should wrap up a bowl bid

Mountain West Wire predicts that a 7 win Wyoming team does not get selected for a bowl game. What a joke.

I question that account / group regularly. Not sure they don't have at least half of their heads up their asses on a regular basis.

With multiple weeks of impossibilities in their projections, they have proven themselves to be completely full of shit.

Wyoming will get a bowl bid.

Umm yea, it's actually 100% guaranteed because there aren't enough bowl eligible teams. Rice at 5-7 is in too. The question is whether UNLV at 5-7 also makes it.

Bowl Projections - November 28

A lot of uncertainty surrounding MW bowls this year with UNLV at 5-7 potentially going to a bowl game depending on the NCAA and the results of Buffalo and New Mexico State next weekend. This has created a wide net of projections for this time of the year.

They would probably stomp us but Id love to see the Kansas one happen. Probably would see a good turnout from both fanbases there.

Because UNLV has elected not to participate in a bowl game following the firing of Arroyo, first responder bowl is unlikely to happen now. New Mexico or Arizona here we come IMO and some updated projections.

UNLV is 5-7. The chances of them being picked for a bowl at all were very slim.

Wrong. It was virtually guaranteed.

Under NCAA rules when there aren't enough bowl eligible teams, bowl eligibility is automatic based on APR (and assuming the school doesn't decline the bowl invite. For 5-7 teams, UNLV was #2 behind Rice in APR. Do you really think that bowls want Rice? Watch - Rice will be going to a bowl game at 5-.7 (it is guaranteed).

No, it wasn't "...virtually guaranteed." NMSU just got a waiver on their FCS games, so it looks like them and Rice are bowl bound while UNLV looks for head coach #11.

For 5 win teams, bowls have to take them in order of their APR, so Rice would have HAD to be taken before UNLV. Obviously a moot point now.
