I've heard that the coaches have been pretty vanilla so far. Watching the last two games - I would agree.

I don't call a double reverse and read option plays in a pro-style system as vanilla. It concerns me that these plays (along with any other play) didn't work too well against a terrible FCS team.

Thing is - the o-line looked like it was doing a pretty good job all game. Either the running backs don't have the right timing (or just flat out suck), or they kept the blocking strategies and running routes pretty generic. It might be a combo of both though.

And for the first time in about 15 years, I'm not complaining about the guards and tackles. There is something to be said about that....
