2015 MW Tournament

Based on my projections through the end of the regular season, this is how the tournament should shake up.

Edit: Not to toot my own horn, but my projections were dead on. This is the MW bracket.

Play-in games

8. New Mexico 15-15 (7-11)
9. Air Force 13-16 (6-12)

7. UNLV 17-14 (8-10)
10. Nevada 9-21 (5-13)

Bracket

1. Boise State 24-7 (14-4)
#. Winner of 8/9 game

4. Wyoming 22-9 (11-7)
5. Utah State 18-12 (11-7)

3. Colorado State 26-5 (13-5)
6. Fresno State 15-16 (20-8)

2. San Diego State 24-7 (14-4)
#. Winner of 7/10 game

*San Jose State is ineligible for the MW tournament due to NCAA violations

Let's look at how the season is going, Utah State is playing the best Basketball they have all year right now. Sure they are coming into Laramie but so did SDSU & Fresno. We're very down right now, Nance won't be back to his old self until tournament time and no one is stepping up but Adams.

So we have Utah State and Colorado State tied for 3rd and I think Utah Stat is hungry and Colorado State is settling so I think unless we beat Utah State which I don't believe we will CSU won't beat them and that will give them 3rd.

Between SDSU & BSU I dunno what to think, But Boise is primed for an upset and I think Fresno is going to be that team.

So the top 5 I think we see from here out 1 SDSU, 2 BSU, 3, USU, 4 CSU, 5 Fresno.

We'll see who is closer in a week if you're in Vegas I'll buy you a drink if you win.

Even if Wyoming loses the last 2 games and ends up 10-8 that means Fresno St. has to win their last 2 games to overtake Wyoming and i don't see Fresno St. beating Boise at Boise. So if they tie then Wyoming wins the tie breaker because Wyoming is 1-0 against Boise St.

So I don't really see Fresno St. overtaking Wyoming.

Haha I wish I had the time off to go to Vegas. That's a fun trip regardless of results. Obviously Fresno winning @ Boise is a bold pick. Broncos should coast their way to a regular season title. USU is capable of winning the next two games, but I think they drop at least one if not both. I think one of Boise State, San Diego State, or Wyoming (darkhorse candidate) win the tournament.

Fresno is the only team keeping Boise from having a 13 game win streak right now. And that was only a 6 point loss at Fresno. I just don't see Boise losing this one at the Taco.
Boise is probably gonna win out. I do think SDSU is primed to lose at UNLV though. With as subpar as their O is, if they don't take off they'll drop another one before conf tourney.

Looks like we'll be a pretty certain 4 seed, with a rematch against utah st. most likely in round 1. If we can handle Utah st again, we'll most likely face boise, who we've already beat as well. A win again with them would take us to the championship. I really, really like how things have shaken up! I'd prefer not to play UNLV or SDSU until the championship if I had a choice. We're healthy, the matchups are right, see you in Vegas!!!

Umm... if we beat NM and USU beats CSU we are the 3 seed.
 
I think I want UNLV to beat Nevada, then knock off SDSU for us if we end up on the same side of the bracket.
If we can play Fresno then UNLV to get into the finals, I think that's our best path. I'm not entirely sure that the Vegas fans would pack that place to turn it into a road game. It would be the semi-finals so maybe.

I guess it all depends on how we play New Mexico tomorrow. If we handle them, I want them to knock off someone for us. Ugh, the possibilities.

Basically the hardest possible path based on how teams are currently playing, USU is going to want revenge from the AA beat down and they played solid today. We played like complete shit for 30 mins of that game.

Well here is to my first MWC Tournament not being a one and done that would really be a learning lesson on what not to do for future vacations.

I think Wyoming beats Utah State. Boise State is red hot though. Winning 14 of your last 15 games is Top 25 basketball. That will not be a walk in the park, especially the way BSU is playing defense.

But Wyoming has a chance. Believe! Cowboy fans will represent.
 
Even though the Pokes looked out of sync and appeared to be suffering a major hangover from the USU game, I think the seed is the best they could have hoped for considering the circumstances. They match up much better against USU and Boise than SDSU. Less length to deal with and the Pokes a better interior game. One game at a time starting with USU. And they need to play much better than they did tonight to have a chance.

Our first opponent and our projected 2nd opponent have both lost to us this season. Does that make us favorites? No. But I'd rather play someone we've already beat. And I'm hoping the rams can knock off the Aztecs in the semis. Not only would it be awesome to play our biggest rivals in the championship, but we're 2-0 against them.

Its gonna be a tough road, but we've already proven throughout the season that we can beat the teams we're matched up against this tournament
