MWC opening week

I'm glad they got beat too, but that score line makes it look like they got dominated. If you watch the game, play was pretty even, but BSU had some very untimely turnovers.

BSU actually outgained South Florida in total yards, had 10 more first downs, and had 12 more minutes of possession. It was a weird game.
 
UTEP over USU is my sleeper pick of the week. Go Miners! And I can’t wait to see BSU get annihilated by Notre Dame next. Even if the Pokes are limping to victories, BSU getting curb stomped will make my weekends all that more tolerable.

Not MW related, but ND up over K-State at the half. Whoa. We might see a fight break out again between the KState qbs dad and brother.

Agreed. UNLV looked much better this week compared to their opener, but nothing earth shattering from them. CSU looked better than I thought they’d be, but Washington tends to open slow so who knows. SJSU….kicker, wow. They’ll bounce back but if games come down to kicks, that guy might have the yips. Next week will say a lot for the Pokes. Gotta get that one!
 
MWC - 5-4 yep, starting to balance out in the non-con
PAC-Stabbers - 3-3 (4-4 if you roll in the actual pac teams)
Pretty even through week one, as expected. G6 teams struggled against P4 competition for both sides.
 
Impossible for me to separate the MWC teams so far this year. It feels like this may be the most competitive season in MWC history. I know we only scored 10 points, but the offense is clearly more explosive than it has been in years. Defense may not be super talented but if they continue to tackle as well as they did against Akron it's gonna be tough to outscore us. Hopefully the Utah/CU games prepare us well for conference play

I like this assessment. New Mexico surprised me a bit. For all their transfers out/in, they were better than I expected in the “big house”.

Personally, I think if Kaden gets control of the O and we score, we will be better than I expected. Defensively as you said, tackling was sound, I thought they were quick overall. Special teams might be a concern. Hopefully we’ll see improvements Saturday. It’ll be nice to have a couple extra days to prepare.
