Avie: Abbreviation for 'avatar'. Also spelled Avi, AV.
You are thinking of AVI since its all capitalized is an acronym. We are using avi which is not an acronym.
AVI is also automated vehicle identification. Weird how things can have multiple usages in the English language. That's why the context that they are used gives away their meaning. Ex. bass and bass. Never seen anyone play a fish in a band.
