Mike Leach passed away last night from a heart attack.

Granted this isn't UW football news however, he was from Cody, Wyoming.

I remember Leach bringing his Washington St team to Laramie in 2018 and lighting up the scoreboard. A real innovator from one of the best coaching trees in CFB history. College football is much more entertaining with guys like Mike Leach.

RIP Pirate.

I heard him interviewed a few times on the Jim Rome radio program. He seemed to be extremely smart and a decent guy. Sorry to hear he passed.

If you get a chance, there is a fantastic article from several years back in the Atlantic where they interview the quarterbacks he coached through the years. It is absolutely hilarious and will bring a smile to your face. He apparently spoke often of growing up in Wyoming. Fun coach with a great, big personality. He will be missed.

Last time I felt like this was when John Candy died.
