Did you see the reports (a few days old) about an unnamed 5 star recruit in the 2023 class receiving an 8 million NIL deal with 350K due as soon as he signs?

Wow! Again, I'm all for the athletes but this can't be good for college sports in the long-term.

Trouble. Not sure how this will end up, could be great, could be awful.

This will really hurt Wyoming and other programs like ours.

I am all for capitalism and people getting paid for their likeness, but somehow this needs to be regulated. I dont know what the right answer is, but this will be bad for the overall state of the game.

Yeah, kind of hard to regulate scholarships when they’re a drop in the bucket compared to NIL. There is the schools that’ll have 0 walk-ons because of NIL and then the rest. They found a way to finally put that last nail in the coffin of g5. Those pesky bastards still managed to compete at times with less tv revenue but now let’s see them compete against schools with essentially no scholly limit

With this insane NIL money, college football has turned into the NFL without a salary cap...
