It’s probably good the CJC auction was done before the Fresno and UNM games.

McPeachy,
I feel your frustration. I think we all do. We can argue about why the team hasn't performed. But the bottom line is, they haven't. And if this year were an outlier, we could let it go. But there is very little to hang your hat on when it comes to Wyoming football. I've been a fan since Fred Akers took us to the fiesta bowl. I was a little kid then but I remember the great years and even the years we didn't reach the top, but we were always a tough opponent. What we are seeing now is indefensible and basically unwatchable.
It's time to bring in some young blood and see if the program can't be energized. Because I can't see another 2 years of this.

When Christensen was cut loose, the first name that popped into my head was Matt Campbell, who was the HC at Toledo. Everyone gushed over Bohl, though. Campbell remained at Toledo for two more seasons before Iowa State grabbed him. I'd be curious to know if Burman even attempted to contact him...
Seems to me we just keep setting our sites too low on our hires since Dimel. We should be grabbing a winning HC from C-USA, the MAC, the Sunbelt, etc...

I don't disagree but didn't Urban turn us down for Utah?Wyovanian wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 3:09 pm When Christensen was cut loose, the first name that popped into my head was Matt Campbell, who was the HC at Toledo. Bohl was a plum hire when we nabbed him. He had built a program from next to nothing up to dominance.Wyovanian wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 3:09 pm When Christensen was cut loose, the first name that popped into my head was Matt Campbell, who was the HC at Toledo. Craig Bohl coached NDSU when it moved from Division 2 to FCS. Prior to Bohl's arrival and while in Division 2, North Dakota State had I believe 1 losing season in its prior 25 years. In fact, during those preceding years, I believe NDSU qualified for the D2 playoffs 17 times, won 5 National Championships and had 2 NCAA runner-up finishes. NDSU has always been a solid program at the levels it participates in.

Peachy, you and I are cut from the same cloth. I want to quit on this as well, but I know I won't. I don't want you to either. We don't know each other, but I enjoy reading your takes. In heaven Wyoming will win a lot of championships for us! LOL

An FCS program. He was not very successful as an FBS assistant.WyoExpat wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 7:05 pmBohl was a plum hire when we nabbed him. Send that information to Burman and ask him if he feels you are getting value for your money.McPeachy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:45 am Questioning my investment...after 50+ years of fandom.

He knows. But I don't donate $25k each year to the CJC, so I am irrelevant to those MF'ers. Time for some change.Steamboat wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 3:53 pmSend that information to Burman and ask him if he feels you are getting value for your money.McPeachy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:45 am Questioning my investment...after 50+ years of fandom.
