Hendricks is very good. JJ is very good. That's about it.

I agree. Those 3 have a long ways to go(with AJ being the closest). It appears the coaches knew what they were doing when they weren't playing them more minutes earlier in the season.(of course if they had been they maybe would have been more ready once everything hit us now). Hoping for something to click inside of them and become D1 ready but know it won't happen overnight.McPeachy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:35 amAll 3 you mentioned (Banks, Porter, and Johnson) are so far from being D1 ready, if they have to play any kind of role or substantial minutes (which they will) - we are screwed.TSpoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 8:04 am Its hard to win the game when you play most of the second half with 4 players that they have trusted with important minutes. AJ, Porter and Johnson better start finguring stuff out so they can provide some meaningful minutes. I feel like AJ is almost there. He has flashes just needs to be consistant and more under control. Liked his on ball defense.
Thompson on defense could take a charge but that is about it. Really like his offensive game but needs to figure it out on the defensive end. We needed better effort on the boards last night(understatement)
I'm torn on burning redshirts. We may need the bodies but it sounds like people that have seen them, that Young isn't ready to play and if Maldo can get his back figured out and Ny can come back then he probably won't play much during conference(not to mention if Naughton can get healthy) but if those 3 don't get things worked out we will need some bodies.
Moving on to 2019 - 2020...
Maldo is good, when he can play.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:13 amHendricks is very good. JJ is very good. That's about it.
Does anyone have experience with back spasms? Is there a long term solution here or will it always be an issue? Can we shut him down for a month and things will get better or even for the season if we decide to mail it in? Or are we just continually gonna have to wonder if he is gonna play and hope that it doesn't act up during the game?

It depends on what is causing the back issue. If it truly is just back spasms, rest and rehab should clear things up after a little while. If it is being caused by a compressed nerve or a lumbar disc issue, then there isn't much you can do besides rehab and trying to minimize the pain. A month off for one of these causes might feel good for a game or two, but it would flare back up.TSpoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:23 amMaldo is good, when he can play.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 9:13 amHendricks is very good.
