For you newbies....GTS = Guess The Score

I'm getting anxious for football, so I'm going to get this thread started a week or two earlier than usual.

No spread yet for this game. It will likely appear 2-4 days before opening day. Unusual fact for this game: it's unlikely that North Dakota will have a name by opening day. So the Wyoming Cowboys will play against....simply North Dakota. :|

North Dakota went 5-7 in 2014, closing the season with wins over Northern Arizona and Northern Colorado, but overall struggled in the Big Sky last fall. Not much improvement is expected in 2015, based on the preseason poll. For comparison's sake, they lost @San Jose State 10-42.

My prediction: If Coffman and this offense are as good as projected, they should score at least 35 points against a poor FCS opponent. The defense might have a brain fart here and there because of youth, but they shouldn't struggle with a team like this. I might revise my prediction when the spread comes out, but for now I'll say 38-7 Pokes.

Your turn...

42-17 with Wick and Hill doing what Hill did to Fresno, I'm expecting big things from both of those two and I'm expecting them to make a statement early and break some long runs.

ND will score in garbage time when the game is already out of hand.

I've been saying this the last 5 years and it's been a 1-2 score each time. It's time for a blowout

Yup. Good football teams don't struggle in tune up games. Time to tee off on someone.

42-10.

Wick and Hill both run for 2 TDs. Coffman tosses another 2.

Emphasis there is good football team. I've yet to see enough to make me believe we are one...I hope this year will change that though.

I'll be backing my undergrad school, but my graduate school will prevail.

I'm thinking Wyoming offense rolls, but the defense is still struggling with young players trying to learn on the job. 42-20

31-17 Pokes. Defense struggles at first but stiffens in second half. Cowboys run game and altitude wears down UND in 4th quarter. Wick and Hill both run for 100+, Coffman passes for 300.

35-7 Wyoming.

Our Defense comes out fired up and gets UND off the field. Our offense moves the ball well and manages the clock.

After this game, we declare our defense is back to 2006 levels. Within 3 weeks we say 'hells bells, that wasn't the case after all - damn defense.'

30-10

Finally we see an opener against an FCS foe that isn't a nail biter.

UND keeps it close most of the game, eventually getting worn out by Wick, Hill and 7200'.

Pokes 38 - 13, no problems at all as they control the clock with a potent running attack. Wick and Hill should both have 100+ rushing yards and Coffman throws for 200+ in a runaway.

27-13 Pokes win. Score is closer than the game really is but Pokes are working on a few things in the game.
