need legit run threats at QB. Absent that...Bohl's Offenses are just really bad.

There is just no mixing it up at all with Bohl even midway in the game down 2 scores. Every drive we start with a run no matter what.
They just mixed it up on first down for an INT. Play calling isn’t the issue
I think every aspect of the offense is the issue from the pass game side. Coaches recruit and develop the players. Our coaches have zero emphasis on the pass game at all in practice or games. Thus our route running by receivers and passing by qbs is terrible and has been consistently that way for 9 years across many qbs and receivers. We rarely call passes in games and when we do they are usually pretty obvious. Because we rarely call passes or mix up the play calling our players are terrible at executing them. Since they are terrible at executing them our coaches then call 2 yard runs on 3rd and goal from the 8 and start every drive with a run no matter the situation.
And the cycle repeats game after game, year after year

It's a bad offense....plain and simple. If a bad offense runs...bad things happen...if a bad offense passes..bad things happen. Individual play calls don't matter a whole heck of a lot.
Unfortunately, truer words have never been written. Just hard to watch.

3rd and 13, down by 14 and call a run play? Ridiculous

We can’t even get a punt deep. The competition must have been fierce

I believe Bohls quote at one of the pressers was even "A punter has separated himself from the rest." Hard to believe at this point

That is pretty high on the unintentional comedy scale

Well...one half down, is anybody surprised? I know a few people were predicting close games or a Wyoming victory. Nothing I'm seeing surprises me....this is pretty much going how I predicted. Illinois is bigger, faster, better than us across the board. It sucks but it is what it is.
