I'm trying to track down UW's yearly Homecoming opponents from 1946 to now.
Most of the information I need is in the 1988 media guide I have. However, in the year-by-year section, they only give the yearly (HC) opponent from 1946 to 1978. Why they didn't do the ones from 1979 to 1987, who knows.
Also, a couple of media guides I have from the 90s don't even give the information in that season's schedule (in the first couple of pages), 1994 and 1998.
Plus, I got rid of all of my media guides for the Keonning Era and all of the ones from the Glenn Era except two (2004 & 2005).
If you can remember any of our Homecoming opponents for these years...
1979-1987, 1989, 1994, 1998, 2000-2003, & 2006-2007.....
Wonderful! If not, I'll ask the SID office via email Monday.
Need historical Homecoming opponent info from everyone
1994 had to be SDSU. I don't remember much of the 2nd half except the snow storm that moved in. It was my first HC ever and I know we won. I was in Canada for the first half of October and the only other home game in October was LA-Monroe.
I'm thinking UNLV in 1998, but not sure.
2003 was BYU. We won 13-10, goal posts were carried to the Buckhorn. Last HC I've been to.

We played the Rebels in Vegas that year so UNLV wasn't our Homecoming opponent that year. Home games in 1998 were: Montana State, Louisiana Tech, Utah, SMU, Rice, and Air Force. I'm thinking our 1998 Homecoming opponent was either SMU or Rice but that's just a guess.roozy wrote:I'm thinking UNLV in 1998, but not sure.

The more I think about it I think it WAS SMU we played for Homecoming in 1998.roozy wrote:I'm pretty sure I was at 1998 HC. But I was working a lot of OT that year, so maybe not. I do know that I've never seen Rice play, so I'm guessing that probably rules them out.
Anybody remember who we played for Homecoming from 2000-2002 i.e. the worst three years in Wyopming football history?

Got a couple for you.
'87 was SDSU. That was my first year at UW, the drinking age was still 19. Good Times!
I believe '89 was Utah. That was our only home game in October that year.
'06 was Utah I believe, Seems to me my Utah friend
Pretty sure that lightning delayed debacle with New Mexico was was our '07 homecoming

Thanks, COS!
O.K. I got all of the Homecoming games now from 1987-present.
If anyone can remember any Homecoming opponents from prior to 1987, let me know ASAP.
Thanks to everyone that has helped me in this project.

The Utah "lights out" game wasn't due to lightning. It was a 20 below zero, late afternoon, turned into a night game in November.MrTitleist wrote:I thought the lightning was vs. Utah.. when the stadium lights went out?
