This is stupid. At what point is "college" basketball going to directly compete with the NBA? It's just another professional league. Everything unique and beautiful about college athletics is being ruined.
It is out of control, and not going to get any better - it will be darkest before the dawn. What will be sweet, is beating those high dollar NIL teams...it is like when the Colorado Rockies beat the LA Dodgers, in a smaller sample size.
Except the Rockies ownership has the money to compete with the Dodgers; they just choose to operate the Rockies as a cash cow because of all of the Colorado transplants who will gladly pay big money at Coors field to watch the visiting team.

Realistically - we don’t have the donor base to compete financially with the TCUs of the world.

Brilliant legal strategy.

It will probably settle before discovery because the coach and university won’t want to disclose all the documents that could lead to significant NCAA penalties. He will get a good portion of the money he is requesting.

I wish this would go to trial but you are right. This will be settled. It is likely the only reason the case was filed was because pre-filing talks failed. Napier, Florida and the whole NIL system have too much to lose if the case is successful at a trial.

Universities should be able to sue players for breach of contract now too, however it'd probably be a death sentence to the school. All the power is on one side now. The opposite of before. Need something in the middle

Not to mention being able to sue other teams for interference with contract
