If I'm Burman, I'm breathing a sigh of relief. Get to start a new "give the guy at least 3-4 years" cycle before the heat comes back to him.

I’m betting Linder contacted them looking for an out at UW. It was a matter of time.

Holy crap. Not a good look to have a head coach take a demotion. The bball program is in shambles

If true, we’ll wait to see what happens, but it is horrible to leave at this time. WowPoke in New England wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 6:39 pmYes, that is the consensus.
However losing a coach in May is pretty much a disaster. Regardless if that coach was past his welcome.

I see it as “revenge of Linder” and a big middle finger to the fans, players and University. The way he’s acted, like a child, can’t say as I’m surprised.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 6:40 pm Holy crap. Not a good look to have a head coach take a demotion. The bball program is in shambles

Most likely a package deal, Grant probably needed some warm bodies and Linder part of the deal. No honor among thieves. I’ve had it with college sports, it can only continue to unravel. This is a clown show.
At the molecular level all mankind is a brilliant super-nova.

I'm shocked. Linder must have seen a complete disaster coming this season and the only way out was to salvage whatever is left of his coaching reputation by getting out now. Who is going to want this job knowing that the talent level is possibly not even D1 level?LanderPoke wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 6:40 pm Holy crap. Not a good look to have a head coach take a demotion. We are being saved!!! Good riddance.
This does not surprise me at all. Sitting behind him all season, it was so obvious he was checked out and just cashing a paycheck.
Now - we will probably face a new wave of transfers but in 2 years we can turn this around. I agree, we need to be on the phone with Wicks!!

It was in shambles. Now we have a chance to build a program with the cancer removed.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 6:40 pm Holy crap. Not a good look to have a head coach take a demotion. The bball program is in shambles

Hope this serves as a wake up call to fans that we need to support the program better if we don’t want to suck and have embarrassing things like this happen to us.
I hope we keep Deweese on staff. I really like him

I hope 7220 or other media source does a public records request. I believe Linder owes us at least $1 million for leaving early. But I suspect Wyoming let him leave free of any buyout.

TT should pony up this money in his contract.OrediggerPoke wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 8:53 pm I hope 7220 or other media source does a public records request. I believe Linder owes us at least $1 million for leaving early. But I suspect Wyoming let him leave free of any buyout.

I can’t imagine they would pony up that kind of buyout for an assistant.Itsux2beaewe wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 8:58 pmTT should pony up this money in his contract.OrediggerPoke wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 8:53 pm I hope 7220 or other media source does a public records request.
