This team is even worse than those Heath put on the floor. They just are lost out there. Bad times for men's basketball in Laramie.
What is the difference between politicians and stoners? Politicians don't inhale...they just suck.

Pokes had some momentum going at times but ......they don't have all lot
of skill, they aren't very smart when handling the ball, can't shoot from 3,
and shoot free throws like they don't really care what happens.
They are really hard to watch.
Was talking to Kevin McKinney the other day and almost asked him who the new coach would be.

You do realize that we didn't have a single player on the floor bigger than 6'6"? New Mexico had 3 guys at least 6'9". The only way we have a chance is if the other team is lazy and sloppy. The fact that Jake Hendricks shoots more than anyone on the team other than Maldanado is all you need to know.
All the points you made are valid. But the lack of size and muscle is just incredible. We were out rebounded yesterday 46-27. And it would have been worse if New Mexico hadn't made so many shots in the second half. The season can't end quick enough.

Larry Shyatt seemed to have a knack at finding talented players that
would light a fire under the team.
Allen Edwards may have the smarts to be a good coach but hasn't been around long enough to have the contacts at recruiting like Larry.

What are you smoking? Edwards biggest weakness is he coaches at the level of a Wyoming middle school basketball coach. The kids on this team look like they have no talent because he is such a terrible coach.castlerocker wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 7:59 pm Larry Shyatt seemed to have a knack at finding talented players that

It was actually Scott Duncan that was the person who found talent. Shyatt hated recruiting, and really was never great at it - here or anywhere. Duncan was a master, both stints at UW, and successes, can point directly toward him.castlerocker wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 7:59 pm Larry Shyatt seemed to have a knack at finding talented players that

Wasn't it down to Edwards and Scott Duncan? Man, Burman is clueless at hiring basketball coaches.McPeachy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 12:22 pmIt was actually Scott Duncan that was the person who found talent. Duncan didn’t want the position since Shyatt was leaving. Duncan was gone either way. Only way he was staying is if Shyatt stayed. So Edwards got it.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 12:59 pmWasn't it down to Edwards and Scott Duncan? As the story goes, Edwards used to argue with Shyatt about how to coach and what they should be doing. Guess it is pretty obvious why Shyatt was the head man. Edwards is one of the worst coaches ever.

Exactly what I understand as well. That and Duncan really isn't the X's and O's type of guy - he is a recruiter, and players-coach.seattlecowboy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2020 5:36 pmDuncan didn’t want the position since Shyatt was leaving. Edwards lived off JJ, et al - that Duncan recruited for the first years of his tenure...although he really tried to screw that up anyway.
This is strike 3 in my mind with Burman and the basketball program. Schroyer, Schroyer's Extension, Edwards. He has no choice but to hit a HR with the next hire, or it damn well should cost him his job.

It should cost him his job, but as long as the football team is winning at least 7 to 8 games a year it won’t.McPeachy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 9:05 amExactly what I understand as well.
