Just checked. The road trip to Austin replaces a road trip to Denton to play North Texas. We'll play at North Texas in 2027. We'll get the Mean Green in Laramie the year before (2026).

Levi Williams (Texas kid) would theoretically be a Senior in 2023.

I believe both the Cowboys and MN Gophers have open dates for 2026 and 2027. Would be great to get a home and home with those two schools. Gophers already schedule MWC teams fairly frequently.

Agree. Minnesota is a lower tier P5 that would probably be amenable to a home and home as anyone

We last played the Gophers in 1946. Got killed, 46-0. In our defense, it was our first year back playing football after having to suspend football due to a little event called World War II.

Minnesota was 11-2 last year playing in the BIG 10 beating Penn State and Auburn along the way. Minnesota has had at least 6 wins in a season going back to 2011. 'Lower Tier P5' hardly!!

Minnesota has become a secondary school I root for. PJ Fleck has turned a corner for them. They were a fun team to watch this last year.Historically they have been a second tier but hopefully they aren't anymore. I would also love for them to play us.

Nobody would like to see that happen more than me, and I'd like to see that happen in other sports as well... And if only Wyoming (and the whole MWC, for that matter) would start up men's and women's D1 hockey programs... Man, that would be awesome!

"Historical" or "traditional" does not reflect what is happening NOW or in the recent past. Nebraska at one time was a powerhouse. They haven't done anything in 20 years and haven't even made it to a bowl game in the last 3. Texas is another example. The truth is these things are cyclical and right now MN is tough and trending upwards.

I'll agree that they are improving, but they were not as good as their record suggested this year. All 3 non-conference wins were squeakers, won by 7 or less. They played the weakest possible Big Ten schedule and for 5 or 6 week stretch they didn't face a single 1st string QB. They lose 9 defensive starters so next year will be a bit of a rebuild.

Im definitely not sold on Fleck, the dude is a snake oil salesman. If he can continue their upward trend, I'll eat my words but im not ready to say they are anything more than an average Big Ten team just yet.

Can agree with some of this. However you are always as good as your rrecord. Thats why the playoffs don't have 2-3 loss teams, teams with 6 losses are not major bowl contenders etc. I do agree that records do not always tell the whole tale. As far as MN schedule goes, they had the 5th or 6th toughest schedule in the B1G (depending on which info. used) and 22nd toughest nationally. This puts them solidly in the middle of the B1G, hardly "...the weakest possible Big Ten schedule..." In any event I think it would be a good get for the Pokes if it can be done.

I've heard the Clemson game in 21 may not go thru due to lack of recruiting needs out East, we shall see what happens
