I loathe that mentality as much as I LOATHE BYU!!!!!!!
Conference Championships or don't even bother going back to Laramie!!!
I want CHAMPIONSHIPS not chicken poop! And we're getting chicken poop!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe Bohl has aspirations to win conference titles, just not sure the athletic department as whole does for revenue sports (looking at basketball).
There are people who find the standard of 6-6 and as a good year. Those years can be building blocks for future success but they shouldn’t be the bar.

A 6-6 season should never EVER be the bar!!!!! A 10+ winning season with a conference title AND a bowl win should be the bar!!! Last time Wyoming pulled all of that off was in the 1960s!!!!!! 1987 & 1988 only gave us 2 of the three - we didn't win either Holiday Bowl. I will admit we came damned close in the 1987 Holiday against Iowa.marcuswyo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 4:33 pm I believe Bohl has aspirations to win conference titles, just not sure the athletic department as whole does for revenue sports (looking at basketball).

Since G5 programs will never get the highest recruits, how guys fit with the culture is more important. If they don't get along with the staff/teammates then I would rather have them out of there. Better for both parties. I trust Bohl knows best what type of kid fits with the program. Allen Edwards is pretty much the opposite.

Sounds like these guys were told they weren't welcome back. Good on Bohl and time to move on.

I could probably go back and look but we have tried the pnw quite a bit the last decade and I’m not sure we’ve had a single scholarship player stay. All those WRs left and various others. I’d rather see more Texas if we’re going to recruit warm weatherPoke in New England wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 7:45 pmSince G5 programs will never get the highest recruits, how guys fit with the culture is more important. The other board had that info from some people who have a good grasp on the program.laxwyo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 8:35 pmWhere did you hear that?NebraskaCowboy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 8:21 pm Sounds like these guys were told they weren't welcome back. Good on Bohl and time to move on.
So the last 3 years, 0 FBS teams have cleared the minimum bar all three years? Yeah seems like reasonable expectationsWyokie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 5:18 pmA 6-6 season should never EVER be the bar!!!!! Lol...Those fan bases and coaches just don't have high enough expectations. Everyone knows that you can get results by just expecting more. Eh, this is a catch-22. 6-6 cannot be the bar. Consistent mediocrity isn't the answer, but the program has occasional history of taking a step backwards when it decides "consistently average" isn't good enough.
Wyoming has seven double-digit win seasons since 1950. Seven. It's fair to hope for 7-5/8-4 annually, but this program hasn't proven that it deserves to scream "10+ WINNING SEASON WITH 80s UNIFORMS OR GTFO!!!"
