Jeez louise 34 pts and 20 rebounds for JJ...... wonder when the last time a cowboy had that kind of a stat line was..... just dont have too much around him. Nice game from thompson, probably win that game if Maldonado plays but that's no excuse. Not much help for JJ right now, Hendricks picked a bad game to disappear

No Maldanado again? What’s going on with him? This team and their “injuries”.
It’s the injuries that’s going to screw us this year.

He has back spasms. Naughton helped him off the bench at every timeout. If Maldonado had played and Hendricks had a somewhat decent game we would have won going away. Great game by James and ThompsonkansasCowboy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 8:54 pm No Maldanado again? What’s going on with him? This team and their “injuries”.

This team is putrid at shooting 3s.
Oh wait, thats what we say every game. If we would shoot like 10 3s a game or less we would win.

I didn't get to see any of the game, but wow, JJ really had quite the stat line. I hope he keeps this up through conference play -- he's the bright spot we can look for this year.
This is what happens when you have a joke of a strength and conditioning program/director of player development.kansasCowboy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 8:54 pm No Maldanado again? What’s going on with him? This team and their “injuries”.

Its gonna be a long year if Maldo isn't able to play any away games(may be a long year anyway). It seems that getting on a plane causes his back spasms to act up. We need to get this figured out but I'm not sure what they can do. Hard to win without your second best player on the court and your probably 3rd best stinmking it up.Vt poke wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 9:01 pmHe has back spasms. We'd be a dangerous team if we had A) 1 person who could consistently hit threes in clutch situations. JUST ONE. and B) if we didn't spot our opponents huge leads throughout the game.
Imagine this team if they came out to start the game with the same intensity and energy as they do when they feverishly scramble to eliminate a 20 point deficit every game....

Truly a tale of two halves for both teams. 57 combined points in the first half, 107 combined in the 2nd half. The atrociously bad starts have doomed the Pokes in at least a couple games now.ItSucksToBeACSURam wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 8:59 am We'd be a dangerous team if we had A) 1 person who could consistently hit threes in clutch situations. No, he's not. Director of player development has nothing to do with strength or conditioning. You're thinking of the strength coach. These are 2 different people. For Basketball, Rob Watsabaugh is Dir. of Player Development and Marcus Edwards is the strength and conditioning coach.DVDA wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 9:06 amHe's responsible for strength and conditioning.WestWYOPoke wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 8:46 amWhat does the director of player development have to do with injuries??DVDA wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 12:04 amThis is what happens when you have a joke of a strength and conditioning program/director of player development.kansasCowboy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 8:54 pm No Maldanado again? Well one of the injured is just a chronic injury prone big man(seems to happen to big guys) another is a concussion so can't really put that on strength and conditioning and the other is back spasms which I am not sure if that is something that can be affected by S&C. So not sure how much blame can be put anywhere.

We never actually got word on what his knee injury was, did we? Or what specific stretch he was doing when it happened? Can't place blame like that without having the information.Poke in New England wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 4:24 pmthat injury-prone big man hurt himself stretching. ringing endorsement of the training staff.TSpoke wrote: ↑Thu Nov 29, 2018 11:11 am Well one of the injured is just a chronic injury prone big man(seems to happen to big guys) another is a concussion so can't really put that on strength and conditioning and the other is back spasms which I am not sure if that is something that can be affected by S&C. Concussions can't be put on S&C or the medical staff either. They can't run out while they see an elbow approaching a face and shield it from contact.
Back spasms? Any number of things could cause a back spasm. Again, we don't have enough info.
