Position Change

Ghaifan was destined to play punter, and his time has arrived.
Makes sense. With the 2018 offense, it looks like punter will be the most active position and so you want one of your best players there.

Trey Woods is a good call. I have a feeling Bigelow and Valladay are lightin it up. Still a fan of Overstreet also

Who's moving to QB?
My first thought was we'll see a new QB or O-lineman, but now we know it's an O to D move. My guess (hope) is Woods moves to LB. Because 1) I didn't really like anything I saw from him last year and 2) because that means a newcomer is expected to have a big year this year

The player moving will redshirt or the position he’s moving to will redshirt the person he displaced? Can’t imagine very many open positions on D

That part is just a guess. But that guess is that the player that’s moving would redshirt.

Official: Woods is moving to DE. I'll take that as a positive sign for the running game.
Would he compete for a starting position there, or be a backup?

My guess that it would result in a redshirt is because we have Carl, Prosser, Crall, Hall and he is coming off injury and it's close to the start of the season.

I have no intel on this, just a hunch.

This highlights how asinine it was that they rolled with a skinny, slow, erect-running true freshman last year at RB. This was a big part of why we sucked on offense last year! wtf?? clown show. I have no confidence in this offense staff.

ps - I do think woods can be an effective DE if he's able to get bigger and he seems like a good kid and true team player. in other word, last year was not his fault. hang that on the coaches

The kid was thrown into the fire last year. Carl was. a WR in HS so I think a redshirt year he could be a great rusher like Prosser opposite Byrd.
