Talk about a great rivalry!!
Unfortunately, Meredith lost 8-7 to Jack after a series of 3rd period reversals in the NWCA All-Star Classic over the weekend.
To Recap:
-2015 Teammates at North Carolina State and presumably going head to head every night at practice
-2016 NCAA championships - an unknown 14th seeded Bryce Meredith knocks off a 3rd seed Kevin Jack on Meredith's run to the championship
-2017 quarterfinals -10th seeded Bryce Meredith once again knocks off 2nd seeded Kevin Jack
-2017 3rd/4th - Bryce Meredith dominates Kevin Jack but Jack scores a 3rd period (controversial) "defensive pin" to take 3rd place and knock Meredith to 4th place
-2017 All Star Classic - Meredith takes the lead 7-6 late in the 3rd period but Jack comes up with a reversal in the finals seconds to win 8-7
-2017 NCAA National Championship prognostication? -4th seeded Bryce Meredith knocks off 1st seeded Dean Heil and meets 2nd seeded Kevin Jack in the final wrestling match for each of these seniors.

Oh, I should also mention that in the pre-season wrestling rankings, Jack is ranked 2nd in the nation and Meredith is ranked 3rd in the nation. Heil is the #1.

Heil's lack of offensive aggression will cost him this year. I don't expect Heil to win another national title in a stacked weight class.
I think McKenna from Ohio State is gonna be one to watch besides the top 3 in that class. Preseason 5 on floOrediggerPoke wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2017 10:56 amHeil's lack of offensive aggression will cost him this year. I don't expect Heil to win another national title in a stacked weight class.

I absolutely agree! He was ranked 2nd in the nation as a true freshman when he was wrestling for Stanford and Meredith upset him in the semi-finals at the NCAAs. The coaching staff at Ohio State is phenomenal and McKenna is a stud.
Eirman from Missouri and Ashnault from Rutgers are both studs as well. Meredith lost to Ashnault I believe in their only match up last year .
What a stacked weight!!
