I hear that is not a thing any longer? Did anyone else participate in this or was it something unique to a very finite timeframe? I always assumed it was a tradition?

I wonder if we are talking about the same thing, haha? The bar hopping run with a bike?

I think both are different. Tour de Wyoming is not a barhopping bicycle ride. It's a bicycle race of sorts around different parts of the state. The route changes every year. You might google it.ragtimejoe1 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 11:44 amI wonder if we are talking about the same thing, haha? The bar hopping run with a bike?

Dang. I remember them taking the front tires off of a few guys' bikes and told them to pick up the tires the next day at the PD. The guys carried their bikes for the rest of the Tour although they probably didn't make it to quite as many bars, lol.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 2:00 pm police started arresting people for driving under the influence

Sad days, indeed. Not pc anymore to advocate for a drunken bike ride around town, but, in my opinion, to hell with this new world bs. I'll just say it, freakin pansies.laxwyo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 8:38 pmThe state must protect the citizenry from itselfLanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 2:00 pm police started arresting people for driving under the influence

Last year was the first year it didn't happen (COVID). I doubt it comes back.
It was a thing for the last friday before finals week. I think it will be back this year if it just ended due to covid. I actually don’t think the police have ever given a dui for riding a bike in Laramie during tour de Laramie. I participated until 2010, so if it ended it was in the last decade.
