Here is a salute to one of the men of the mission in WWII who passed away this week in Missoula, MT. There is only one left living - he is 100 years old. I have the highest respect for these men. Rest in peace David Thatcher. The loss of these men has a far greater significance than the loss of entertainers, sports figures, and politicians as far as I'm concerned.
You can tell how big a person is by what it takes to discourage him/her.

They've had a few articles about the Doolittle Raiders in the local paper here over the last couple of years. Thatcher obviously got a lot of press here since he was a Missoula resident. He was a very cool story to read about. The flags in Montana flew at half staff this last week to honor him.

Thanks for this. It can be a difficult task keeping tabs on the heroes of that generation.
Rest In Peace sir.
