Theo must approve of Jacob. A guy that can have a triple double with blocks is valuable to have.

Now that the offer list is done going up, I'll post this high school series. I like their coach Johnny Dukes. This one has some highlights at the beginning of it.

Marrs and McFarland are not even the same position type.

Marrs is a 6'11 guy that runs and jumps like he's 6'4.....super lean frame. He's more of a wing Forward, High post distributor type.

I watched him defend at the top of the key and move around like a guard.

He had some back problems (the way a lot of guys who grow to be that big do) and he's really not even gotten to play all that much basketball. I don't like to play the IF game, but IF he had stayed healthy his first 3 years of High School he'd be a top 50 player in the country.

He reminds me of those awesome tall Wing Forward guys that Wichita State had during their Final 4 runs. He can defend well inside, he can score inside.....but hes not gonna sit on the low post all game like a McFarland.

I wonder if we'll see another big get that scholarship now that McFarland chose Houston?

De Luna or Marrs perhaps?

Marrs had an in home visit last week.

I just don't want people to be confused on what type of player Marrs is. If he goes to Wyoming they will still need a true offensive post player. Marrs is high risk high reward as he may have more athleticism than any 6'10+ guy in the entire class of 2023

How many scholarships are available? Maldo and Thompson graduating, Ike possibly going pro? Probably wouldn't hurt to have a guy signed to fill in an unexpected hole, or maybe leave a scholly open for transfers?

I know the staff struck out on a really really high major prospect big man (McFarland)who they thought they were going to get. And in the process turned off a different big man (De Luna) that went to Fullerton. The staff wants a big man this year still

I don't know if I would call that striking out. McFarland would have been the highest rated Wyoming basketball recruit ever. I'm almost 50 and I can't remember Wyoming basketball ever being in the final 3 for a top 60 high school recruit. Just being in his final 3 should be considered a win for our staff. Who knows if that turned off De Luna? He might not have committed here even if we weren't recruiting Jacob.

We do need another big.

I kind of want to see what the staff can do in the late signing period when you have all the transfers in the mix. We'll be recruiting with the momentum of the season and I think this is going to be a great season if Ike comes back on time.
