OrediggerPoke wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2020 8:34 am The wrestling team is rolling right now with dominating wins over CSU-Bakersfield and Utah Valley. This is shocking - Wyoming beats Utah Valley 37-9 losing only two matches. The two matches the Pokes did lose were by the best wrestlers (Bridges - pinned and Hastings in OT).
Utah Valley didn't wrestle 2 of their best guys (HWT and not sure who the other was).
Even had those guys wrestled, at most you are looking at an 18 pt. turnaround. WY still wins. Still a lot of season left but WY seems to be clicking right now. Branch and his team of coaches are pretty amazing and deal well with adversity. WY not in the elite category but definetly in the top tier of programs nationally.

Yeah, obviously it didn't change the final outcome, just pointing out that a couple matches could have been tougher but UVU bailed.

Bad performance against Fresno last night. What was that?

Fresno is going to be a Big 12 Power is a few years. But to only win 2 matches is extremely disappointing. Hastings getting majored by an unranked wrestler at home was surprising to say the least.

Got killed by ok state, but a bright spot is Buchanan. He could be pretty good. Is he a sophomore?

True freshman. By far the most exciting wrestler to watch on the team.

I wasn't at either dual, so all my info. is second hand, from someone that was. My source said Fresno performance was bad-not much drive, fight or will to win. Said O. State performance was better, even though the w/l column was not much different. Can you guys that were their confirm/dispute? Just interested in more than one perspective.
