He had a year of eligibility left and he's enrolled at UW in the graduate program. If I remember right UW offered him a spot to wrestle and he chose football in Seattle instead (someone w/ a better memory than I can say for sure).

I don' t see how he could be varsity. Andrews is one of the best HWTs in the country and Cale Davidson is at 197 and is very good (if trevis could even get down to 197).

Wow, way cool! I had joked about this possibility with a friend when he finished his career at Washington (that he would have one year left). Crazy to see it actually happen!

Talk about a loaded heavyweight!! Tevis should not drop. Tevis has the talent to be an All-American at HWT in my opinion even having no prior college wrestling experience. The undersized athletic heavyweights with solid skill can do very very well...see Anthony Cassar.

Crazy as it sounds, my money would be on Tevis in that matchup.

Wyoming offered him full schollys for both football and wrestling. I believe he would have been allowed to play both sports. He chose to focus on football at Washington (can't blame him).

Might be trying to get back in wrestling shape to take a shot at freestyle, two more weight classes there over 200lbs and under heavyweight. Meanwhile, a good wrestling partner for practice.

Which one? If Tevis could get down to 197 I could see him maybe beating Davidson, but he would get his ass kicked by Andrews.

Andrews.

Exhibit A - Anthony Cassar...I would tend to bet they have similar builds and they both are athletic.

Tevis has to shake off years of rust. If bartlett can beat out Andrews that will be about the most impressive athletic feat I've ever seen. If that happens then Tevis will be an AA probably.

He was at a college level skill wise as a high schooler. Compared to most college HWTs, he was above their technical level as a high schooler. He spent the past 4.5 years increasing his size, strength, speed and agility for a PAC 12 football team. All of that helps make a great HWT wrestler.

You know who else took time off to play football...Josh Hokit of Fresno State. Oh yea, he was an all-American wrestler this past year.

That's right, I remember that now. I remember them having it worked out for him to do both, like Dusty Hoffschneider did.

Hokit played both for at least two years before he AA'd

I can. What did it do for him by going to Washington? NFL? No. Better education, suspect. He should have been a cowboy IMO.
Dear Karma,

Sour grapes man. I am sorry but being a key contributor for Washington in the Rose Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl and being recognized as an all PAC-12 player carries more weight than appearing in the Potato Bowl.
