Wyoming’s Meredith out to show last season wasn’t a fluke (WyoSports.net)

“Last year, I had the confidence that I could be the best in the country and I could be an All-American, but the year before that I didn’t even qualify for the NCAAs,” Meredith said. “This year, I go into practice with the mindset that I’m the best in the world and who’s going to beat me?”

“I’m to the point where I want to start dominating people more,” he said. “I don’t think there’s a huge hole in my wrestling. But another year of maturity and having success is something to build on. Last year, I was trying to become a national champion, and that’s not going to change.”

If there is any upside whatsoever to wrestling with one leg it's you can get massive in the upper body and be way stronger than your two-legged opponents. See Anthony Robles

Good job, Doyle!!

Pokes Conclude Action at UNC Open (GoWyo.com)

“Our guys did well today,” UW head coach Mark Branch said. “There was definitely improvement from last week, but like any open tournament we did have our ups and downs. I was impressed with having 17 of our 25 guys place today. We would have had more if weren’t for our own guys competing against each other. I liked that we had a lot of bonus points and we also had a few guys dominate. For it being the second weekend, that was great to see. With our dual season ahead, we still have areas to improve on but somethings don’t happen in one week. We will be ready to get back to work as we want to continue to improve.”

https://twitter.com/WyoWrestle/status/7 ... 7217860608 Branch Signs Four to 2017-18 Class (GoWyo.com)

“I feel really good in the coverage that we were able to get in this fall signing period,” UW head coach Mark Branch opened. “We explicitly focused on our upper weights and put a lot of effort into that area as we knew it was a serious concern of ours for the makeup of this team. It’s advantageous for us to get a couple of in-state guys, as that is not always possible each year. It was a great place for us to start and then add a couple more very talented wrestlers that are from out of state. The coverage these guys will give us between the 165 and 197 weights is really going to help the depth we are looking for in the upper weights and also strengthen the competiveness we have.”
