Anyone have any news on the upcoming wrestling season? There hasn't been anything new on the university website since early June.

If I'm not mistaken, it should be pretty much the same starting dual lineup from last year?

Minnesota comes to Laramie for a dual?! WOW, that is big time. They only finished 2nd at the National Championships last year...no big deal.

Stroh v TJ Dudly @ 184 is about as good as good as you could ask for.

No problem. That's a great schedule. Was hoping to find a date on the schedule where Cowboy hoops and wrestling were competing in Laramie on the same day. Doesn't look like it.

Looks like Nebraska will stay for the Cowboy Open:

Nebraska wrestlers will compete at the NWCA All-Star Classic (Philadelphia), the Cowboy Open (Laramie, WY), and the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. The highlight of the tournament schedule will be the Southern Scuffle in Charleston hosted by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, annually one of the toughest and most competitive tournaments in the country.

The Cowboy Open is a tournament that seems to get stronger programs attending every year - Boise, Arizona, Nebraska, Branch has done an awesome job. I'm so stoked the Pokes are going to the Southern Scuffle this year.

A strong finish this year could be the potential need for Wyoming making a conference move for wrestling.

Nov. 7: Nebraska @ 3 p.m. (wrestling) and Utah State @ 6 p.m. (football)

Good chance for out-of-towners to support the grapplers before the Aggie smackdown.

Unbelievably great schedule, both home and away. Branch and Co. Have done a remarkable job at WY. Wrestling is the one sport at Wyoming that can consistently compete with the elites in the nation.

I, too, am excited for us to go to the Scuffle. We've had basically the same schedule for a number of years now, so it's good to see them shake it up a bit.

It will be interesting to see who steps up at 133, 174 & hwt this year. With the tough dual schedule, we will need more wins than we received last year at those weights.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the lineup will look like exactly. I think Templeman will come back a lot stronger/better at 133, I think he was never healthy last year. As for 174 it seems like Friesth or McCulley will step in there. Is McCulley really that big? I think Harms comes back healthy and contributes a lot more at heavy.

What's the lineup going to look like?

125: Cox
133: Templeman
141: Mendenhall
149: Breckenridge?
157: Richardson
165: Friesth
174: McCulley
184: Stroh
197: Woods
HWT: Harms

I think there's going to be a battle for the 149 spot.

The University website is showing Beard on the roster. McCully must have put some muscle on in the off-season, it's listing him at 165/174.
